Faithfully transporting children to and from school in 1970s Canada, Blue Dominator Bus has since retired to live on a family-run farm in Devon.
An idyllic rural setting that’s close to the Somerset and Dorset borders, you’ll step on board the striking blue bus after following a private track in a secluded glade, with wide open countryside views that promise to soothe your weary souls!
Sleeping two guests and their best four-legged friend, the bus is gloriously light and spacious inside, equipped with everything you’ll need to relax and unwind. Off-grid and furnished in calming retro style, the effect is soft and comforting, with plenty of cushions and light wood throughout.
Relax by the woodburner after a day of exploring the sweeping World Heritage Jurassic Coast, or whip up a tasty feast in the well-equipped kitchen, to enjoy at the dining-table-with-a-view.
Of course, since you’re staying on a bus, there are plenty of original fixtures and fittings to capture your attention, too – such as the driver’s wheel and control panel. Simply take your place in the leather driving seat, and imagine you’re cruising through the countryside, without a care in the world!
Later on, watch the sun sinking over the trees from your furnished al fresco space, firing up the barbecue for a sizzling supper. If you’re not ready to go inside just yet, how about lighting the firepit and breaking open a packet of marshmallows, as you await the appearance of those soft-twinkling stars?
When it’s finally time to turn in, you’ll discover a relaxing bedroom compartment back on board, gainfully equipped with a downy double bed that’s flanked by windows, for soothing morning views.
