With no neighbours and no noise, Westley Farm’s 40 acres of ancient woodland represent a true sanctuary for the local wildlife.
You’ll find rare butterflies and wild orchids in its heady wildflower meadows and meandering pathways, while the owners’ careful approach to sustainability includes working with Natural England to preserve and protect these beautifully unspoilt surroundings.
The definition of Arcadia is an, “idyllic vision of unspoiled wilderness”. So, it’s fitting that you’ll discover this absurdly romantic, cathedral-like cabin peacefully set amongst sublime Westley Farm nature… and absolutely nothing else.
Expertly crafted from trees in the surrounding ancient woodland, Arcadia is bespoke-designed, completely unique, and refreshingly off-grid. No luxurious attention to detail has been spared, setting the scene for a relaxing and memorable holiday.
Inside, the large, honey-hued space is flooded with coloured streams of daylight through stained-glass windows salvaged from Morocco. Set beneath a soaring wooden arch, there’s a downy king-size bed to curl up in by night, with a daybed and a squishy leather sofa to lounge on by day.
Butter-soft sheepskins and a cowhide rug add welcome touches of warmth and comfort; simply open a bottle of wine and light the wood-burning stove for a deliciously cosy evening in. The stove doubles as a hot plate and oven, too – ideal for whipping up romantic suppers savoured at the table and chairs salvaged from an Alpine chalet.
You’ll also find opulent culinary accessories –a copper sink, an antique butcher’s block, gleaming silver cutlery – to add style and elegance to your meals. Meanwhile, the tableware was especially commissioned and made by renowned ceramicist Barbara Gorton.

More information
If the evening sun is shining, wander outside to the Adirondack chairs, arranged around a fire bowl for the perfect accompaniment to stargazing (you may hear some soft hoots from the resident owl, too). You’ll also find a barbecue for sizzling sunset suppers, with a conversation-starting table and chairs: created from an antique Johnnie Walker whisky barrel!
Laze in the wood-fired hot tub as the twinkling stars begin to emerge in the night sky, for a dreamy way to end the day.
After a sound night’s sleep, freshen up in your en-suite shower (the bathroom also comes with heating, handy for those winter nights), then explore these glorious surroundings completely at your leisure. Follow one of the farm’s winding woodland paths, picnic in the meadow and watch the wildlife going about its day, or venture further afield to the market towns of Stroud, Cirencester, or Tetbury… your choice.
(Of course, if you’d rather stay put at Arcadia and get lost in a good book, that’s your choice too!)
Things to note
There is no Wi-Fi at the cabin – the perfect excuse to switch off! – but there is an excellent 4G phone signal if needed. The path to the cabin is steep in places and can be muddy, so please bring appropriate footwear.

What the guests of Arcadia say
“We took a last minute break to Arcadia this week and it was the best decision! Firstly, our dog was so happy to have his own piece of woods to roam in without being able to wander off as we were securely fenced in. The cabin was luxurious, filled with all the good stuff including locally sourced tea and coffee. The hot tub was heaven and we had a roaring fire inside on the rainy day and a fire pit roaring outside on the sunny days. We saw no humans unless we went looking for them, which we didnt. Just an incredible place to unwind. We also had hampers delivered for snacking, BBQ and breakfast, what a delicious treat, all the products of the highest standard and local. The wine in the grazing hamper was so good we had to go and visit the vineyard a few miles away to buy a few more bottles to take home. Are you still thinking ‘Is this the place to book?’ I would say, go for it before I book it again!”
“What a wonderful place to spend a few days getting away from it all! Arcadia was very comfortable and homely with all that you need for a relaxing holistic stay. Ali & Dan were so helpful in so many ways for which we are very grateful. We were sad to leave and can’t wait to return to Westley Farm, a truly unique little bit of paradise in the Cotswolds.”
“What a find! Fabulous scenery, gorgeous cabin, peace and quiet… Lovely pub across the fields (maybe more like 30 minutes rather than the 20 that was mentioned!) Would highly recommend.”
