Once a working aeroplane that roamed the skies, Alaya Airways now enjoys a serene retirement among majestic Welsh mountains, nestled in woodland near the historic riverside town of Dolgellau.

Ideal for a small family, up to three guests are welcome on board this first-class, dog-friendly glamping retreat, which feels every inch as though you’re on your very own private jet! There’s even a light-up interactive cockpit and authentic pilot’s chairs, to wow aeroplane enthusiasts and fun-seekers alike. (Don’t forget to fasten those seatbelts!).

Vintage aviation décor and signage add plenty of charm, while in-flight entertainment includes Wi-Fi and a Smart TV for streaming your favourite films. You’ll also have access to the exclusive ‘Pilots’ Lounge’, which is home to a handy kitchen and a large shower room.

If the sun is shining, sit outside and savour those big-sky mountain views… perhaps accompanied by tasty delicacies bought from the town’s popular artisan bakeries, just a short wander away. There’s also an enclosed garden space that’s ideal for letting kids and dogs off the leash awhile.

A fabulous base for exploring, further afield await some of North Wales’s most incredible attractions, including Cader Idris – a mountain popular with hikers – Snowdonia National Park, and King Arthur’s Labyrinth.
