Rich in elegant minimalism, the duo of adults-only villas at Achioté were designed by an internationally-renowned creative studio.
Achioté itself (the word refers to a vibrant tropical shrub known as “the lipstick tree” in English) is nestled on a jungle hill above Playa Hermosa, with infinite crystalline ocean views you can easily lose your soul in.
So it almost goes without saying that a uniquely dreamy escape is all but guaranteed in this incredible part of the world.
Whichever villa you opt for – Nefrit or Jaspis – you’ll find it boasts a private plunge infinity pool and an enormous ocean-view terrace suspended above the lush jungle, for the most scenic morning coffee you’ve ever experienced!
You’ll also have full self-contained facilities – dishwasher included – though if you prefer catered meals it’s a mere 200-metre walk to the neighbouring resort. There are plenty of restaurants in the surrounding area, too… if, of course, you can bear to leave.
If you can, hop in your (required) 4×4 to explore that paradise-like beach, or head to nearby Uvita, a bustling adventure-town on the Bahía Ballena coastal stretch, to browse the shops and chat with the locals.
But if you can’t – well, let’s just say we wouldn’t blame you one bit!
