This aptly named site (ACE is an acronym for Adventure, Condition and Essence) refreshingly located in Scotland’s Findhorn glen, is a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered.

Nature lovers, thrill seekers and those in need of rest and relaxation will all find their paradise at ACE Hideaways. Not only will you discover plenty of comfortably rustic accommodation to choose from, all surrounded by whispering trees and abundant wildlife, but with a five-star Visit Scotland activity centre also on site, you’ll be spoilt for adventurous choice!

Choose your sleeping space from a deliciously roomy six-metre bell tent that sleeps up to seven people, or a snugly romantic shepherd’s hut for two. All accommodation is privately situated, and includes access to shared kitchen and bathroom facilities.

The canvas bell tents are wonderfully welcoming, fully equipped with comfy mattresses and a softly crackling woodburning stove (who said living under canvas can’t also be luxurious?) Six mesh windows allow plenty of fresh air – not to mention sunlight – to flood inside.

You’ll find plenty of space outside your tent to sit back and enjoy all the sights, sounds and scents of nature, completely undisturbed. Why not get the fire pit going and enjoy toasted marshmallows as the first stars appear in the clear night sky.

If a romantic rural retreat is more your thing, the handbuilt shepherds’ huts won’t disappoint. Elegantly decorated in ‘shabby chic’ style, your hut comes complete with a full-sized, cosily dressed double bed and a dresser, as well as basic kitchen amenities and low-voltage solar lighting…so you can hole up blissfully inside your hut for as long as you like!

Why not enjoy a sizzling barbecue, then retreat to your private hut and open the stable doors to the twinkling stars outside – or to the morning birdsong after a silent night’s sleep?
