Part of an award-winning Sri Lankan nature-resort that overlooks the UNESCO Natural World Heritage site of Knuckles Mountain Range, you’re guaranteed the most awe-inspiring views from your Aarunya Sky Suite.
Aarunya is an ancient Sanskrit word that means “first rays of the sun”, and even if you’re a confirmed night owl, setting an early alarm could become addictive here. Watching the dawn break over your shimmering infinity plunge pool, as you cradle fresh Sri Lankan coffee to a soothing soundtrack of wildlife, may be just too wonderful to miss.
Along with fresh mountain views and air, you’ll be surrounded by the resort’s seven mesmerising acres of mixed plantation, aromatic spice garden, and heady flora and fauna… a true antidote to stressful life back home! But if that isn’t quite enough indulgence, there’s an on-site spa offering traditional Ayurvedic treatments and international therapies, to help relaxation nicely along.
Whether you choose a Sky Tented (Level 2) or Sky Habitat Villa (Level 1)or (the former is an experience akin to glamping at its most glamorous!), there will be a downy kingsize four-poster bed waiting for you, cosy and contemporary furniture, and a spacious, opulent bathroom with double basins.
In the unlikely event that you tire of those incredible views, there’s a 50” LED TV with satellite channels, along with Wi-Fi to help you stay connected… in fact, updating your Instagram feed on a near-continuous basis could feel like a must!
Outside is a paradise-like dining area and furnished sundeck, with the aforementioned plunge pool and a bathtub for unparalleled sunset soaks.
Along with the Sky Suites, accommodation options at the resort include a selection of superior villas, and a premium villa with a private outdoor pool and jacuzzi – perfect for a special celebration!

What the guests of Aarunya Sky Suites say
“Aarunya Resort is a stunning property in a blissful location. An 8 Villa boutique hotel that truly understands hospitality, creates the perfect backdrop for a relaxing get away. Food, service and amenities are all excellent. The resort feels very exclusive and allows you to embark upon a experience that brings out stillness within you. Whether it’s the authentic Sri Lankan Thai meal or the Aarunya Signature Massage, they deliver on every front with sheer excellence. A highlight of my trip was a guided nature walk right before checkout which allows one to soak in the biodiversity the plantation has to offer. A truly memorable experience that I will also cherish! A must visit!”
“Fantastic views, food is fabulous. You must have a great chef. Villas are new, luxurious and very comfortable. The view of the surrounding mountain ranges and the sounds of the bird life. We felt connected with nature and this was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of kandy Town. The air is clean crisp and refreshing. The villa was beautifully furnished. Everything is brand new. Attention to detail was fantastic. From the tea bags and coffee to where the plug points are located. The highlight of the stay was the food. The sri lankan breakfast was one of the best we have had at such a property and by far the best in our most recent stay in sri lanka.”
“Aarunya Nature Resort was the last station on our Sri Lanka visit, and it really was a great final. Our Sky Tented Villa was just amazing, it’s really a tent but of course luxurious and large, with its own infinity pool with a wonderful view of the valley and mountains. All of that located in a lush green garden with a real multitude of trees, plants, spices and the like. We had booked the all inclusive package and this is highly recommended. Mahesh and his colleagues took so good care of us with all the delicious food, great wines and drinks, no wish left open at any time. We cannot recommend Aarunya highly enough, and will surely come back again.”
