Is Host Unusual involved in the booking process?
No, Host Unusual is an advertising directory so is not involved in the booking process of any property.
How do I book a property?
You can use our ‘enquire to book’ form or visit the owner’s website via our ‘visit property website’ button. Please always remember to mention Host Unusual when you book! We recommend taking out appropriate travel insurance and booking with a credit card for security against any potential problems.
Why don’t you show availability for all properties on your site?
All the unique places featured on Host Unusual are individually run and operated, and use various different booking methods. Host Unusual is a directory and we do not take bookings via our site. Some properties do use our calendar to show availability at a glance, but for those who do not just follow the ‘visit property website’ link on each listing to check dates directly on the property’s website.
How do I find out the cost of a stay at a Host Unusual property?
Prices shown on our listings are the minimum prices for a stay at each property in low season. Please note prices can vary considerably depending on the time of week/year and the various types of accommodation/rooms at some properties, so it is always best to check with the owner when booking.
I can’t get a response from a property I am emailing – what do I do?
Contact us, and we’ll do our best to contact the owner on your behalf.
How do I claim a special offer featured on your site?
Please contact the owner directly and mention the offer and Host Unusual.
Can I leave a testimonial for a property I have stayed at?
Sure – just contact us with your testimonial and let us know where you stayed and when. We’ll verify this with the owner and if they’d like to include it on their listing we will publish it on their page. Please note, this feature is only available for Premier Hosts (look for the badge on the listing page).
I’d like to share some photos of my fantastic holiday at a Host Unusual property – how can I do this?
