A romantically unspoilt building steeped in historic charm, set on the wildly windswept Dungeness coast.

  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

It isn’t hard to see why Fog Signal Building has featured in Kent Life as the perfect setting for a ‘mini-moon’. Infused with all the refreshing sights and sounds of the sea and with direct access to the coast, your romantic location is the unique, windswept shingle beach of Dungeness, Kent.

Can you imagine a more dreamy pastime than watching boats glide along a seemingly endless stretch of sea, as you and your loved one clutch steaming mugs of coffee from the comfort of your beautiful beach house?

Originally a foghorn testing station managed by Henry VIII-created nautical organisation Trinity House, in the 21st century the Fog Signal Building – complete with grand steel tower – provides stunningly dramatic views from every part of the single-level house.

The holiday home is beautifully unspoilt, yet still full to the brim with contemporary creature comforts and the highest quality fixtures and fittings.  Underfloor heating and a woodburner will keep you perfectly cosy on colder evenings, while a Bose sound system allows you to set the perfect mood, as you lounge on cosy furniture.

State-of-the-art Miele kitchen appliances will help you prepare mouthwatering feasts for two, while bare oak and ceiling-to-floor glass both blend with the scenery and allow you to appreciate every moment. On a clear day, you could even catch a glimpse of Cap Gris Nez – the closest point of France to England – across the coast.

An open living area provides the perfect snuggle spot, with plenty of comfortable seating and online TV access. Here you’ll find a dining table to enjoy those romantic feasts… over a glass or two of wine, of course!

The independent kitchen is well-equipped with everything you’ll need, while an indulgent bathroom features not one, but two teak wood baths – a plunge bath and a full-length version to enjoy long, lazy soaks in after a hard day exploring the local area.
