Tor View Shepherd’s Huts

Meet Ted and Len, two luxurious hot tub hideaways perched high on Somerset's soothing Mendip Hills at Tor View Shepherd's Huts.
  • Sleeps: 2 per hut
  • Bedroom: 1 per hut
  • Bathroom: 1 per hut
  • Minimum stay: 2 Nights

If you crave that wonderful feeling of really getting away from it all, a stay at Tor View Shepherd’s Huts is just the solution. You won’t find any signs, doorbells or tourists here. You’ll simply be welcomed by a luxurious, lovingly-designed hideaway, privately positioned to showcase some of the finest views Somerset has to offer.

Winner of the VisitEngland Gold Award, Tor View Shepherd’s Huts have also featured in The Sunday Times and Conde Nast Traveller to name just a few, with focus on their exceptional comfort and attention to detail. After all, who really wants to give up on creature comforts while they’re away?

That’s why you’ll find comfy beds with fresh linen, a flushing toilet and an ensuite shower with fluffy towels, a fitted kitchen and a crackling woodburning stove inside whichever carefully thought-out hut you choose. Oh, and not to mention your very own wood-fired, handcrafted outdoor hot tub, with spectacular views over Glastonbury Tor.

Choose from Ted, a rural hideaway named after the Somerset expression for turning hay, or the slightly more opulent Len, named after owner Phil’s grandfather (a farmer whose field the huts are situated in).  Both are ideal for couples, with Len also suitable to bring a small well-behaved dog, and Ted suitable to bring an infant or child (of up to 12 years).

Built and designed to nurture, Ted includes solar-powered lighting, USB charging points and a gorgeous outdoor cooking oven, with just about everything you’ll need provided, from tea and coffee to firewood and kindling.  You’ll feel instantly at home amongst the soft décor and cosy throws, with plenty of imaginative touches that include a small library of vintage books and ancient maps.

Meanwhile, WiFi-equipped Len includes full mains electricity, a TV and DVD player and a BOSE Bluetooth speaker for those who need them! Mood lighting allows you to set the perfect atmosphere, while electric central heating keeps you deliciously toasty. Think five-star hotel luxury with the finest views. Ted is a hybrid, so he’s warm and cosy all year round, with heated towel rails.

You’ll find the owners just as friendly and thoughtful as the huts themselves, and full of helpful suggestions if you’re looking for places to eat, things to see and hotspots to visit.

What the guests of Tor View Shepherd’s Huts say

“Wow! What can we say! A short 2 night break away saw us residing within the comfort of Len… Absolutely stunning, amazing craftsmanship and so so welcoming. We were blessed with amazing weather but the hot tub, fire pit and log burner were all lit! A great experience for the pyromaniac within. Such a beautiful place! 2 nights is not enough!”

“My husband, 6 month old son and myself stayed in LEN a few weeks ago and it was truly out of this world. The booking process was easy and the communication with Phil was 1st class. The hut is beautifully decorated and well considered with all you could need given its compact size. We enjoyed the hot tub and bbq in the english sunshine and even the baby slept well in the fresh air. Highly recommend.”

“We have just returned from three nights in Ted, this was our second visit and we absolute love it there. There is everything you could ever need in a very cosy, very peaceful and luxurious setting. Hot tub, outdoor oven, ensuite shower room……anything you can think of……they already have. We will be returning and highly recommend others follow suit. Thanks for a great break.”
