Nestled amongst seven private acres of woodland and sleeping up to six lucky guests, there’s a stunning mix of countryside scenery and glorious creature comforts, for a special escape with your favourite people.

In fact, you’ll marvel at that incredible vista even before you’ve scaled the external steps and made your way into the sociable, single-level retreat.

On one side you’ll find a light-filled open-plan space to relax in all together… though if you’re in the mood to steal away with a good book, the sun room offers plenty of peace and quiet. You’ll also have access to an elegant king-size bedroom with its own en-suite.

Meanwhile, you can cook up a storm in the kitchen-diner, equipped with gleaming appliances – including the all-important dishwasher – and a retro dining table to break bread around, all to a soothing backdrop of green views.

Wander to the other side of the house to discover a sumptuous dual-level sitting room that you may never want to leave! Featuring comfy sofas, a log-burner, and a huge Smart TV,  the upper level is home to a dedicated reading area, with heaving bookshelves and a stack of magazines to thumb through.

You can also make your choice from the two remaining bedrooms; a cosy twin room with an en-suite shower, and the sumptuous master kingsize suite with an en-suite bathroom.

Once you’ve staked your claim, you’re free to pour a G&T and take your place at one of the many al fresco lounging areas, watching the sun sink over the enchanting rural horizon. If you can’t bear to head back inside, you can always fire up the barbecue for a sizzling supper!

A sound night’s sleep and a hearty home-cooked breakfast later, you can take a woodland stroll and watch the local wildlife go about their day, or head into Slad for a drink at The Woolpack Inn – a favourite of the late author Laurie Lee, who famously penned Cider with Rosie.

Stroud is just three miles away, too: a town described by Jasper Conran as “the Covent Garden of the Cotswolds”. Pick up local treats from the bustling farmer’s market and visit the Museum in the Park for an unforgettable way to spend some holiday time.

You could also explore the beautiful valleys that encircle Stroud, including Painswick and the ‘Golden Valley’ of Frome, before making your way back to Under Catswood to catch another melting golden sunset.

Things to note

Although the retreat is single-level, there are steep external steps that mean it may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. The garden features steep slopes that mean children must be supervised at all times. Pets may be permitted on request.
