Gaze dreamily out at the Atlantic Ocean, from the sumptuous comfort of your very own private, palm-fringed paradise.

Perched proudly on top of a 70ft rock stack that soars high above Newquay's famed Towan Beach, The Island promises to cast you blissfully adrift from the rest of the world.

Completely surrounded by sparkling water at high tide, you can only access it by crossing an elegant suspension footbridge.

As you move ever further from the bustling mainland, and towards your impeccably styled, totally private holiday haven, you're sure to feel all that world-weariness drifting gently away on the sea breeze.

The hideaway house was once a Victorian tea room, now gracefully refurbished to sleep up to six guests. You'll want to raise the flag just as soon as you arrive, signifying to the beachgoers below that The Island has some brand-new lordly residents!

Showcasing that spectacular seascape to perfection, you'll be surrounded by soft, natural greys and whites, complemented by Scandi-style natural wood throughout. Meanwhile, indulgent touches include two crackling wood-burners, cosy rocking chairs, and your very own ‘bar room' - complete with a bar billiards table, a large 3D TV, and of course, a well-equipped bar!

The kitchen is perfect for whipping up super-sized feasts (though you could always arrange for a private chef to pop in and rustle up some gastronomic delights if you prefer). And when it comes to places to tuck in, you're completely spoilt for choice.

Enjoy a sizzling barbecue supper on the terrace, head for the conservatory with a light lunch, or take to the dining room for something a little more formal. There's even a picnic hamper provided, which means you can wander down to the beach below for some tasty delights whenever the mood strikes.

Had enough of gazing at the sea and the star-studded sky? Then maybe it's time for bed. The first floor master suite is incredibly romantic, featuring a muslin-enshrined four-poster bed, a chaise-equipped snug, and an en-suite shower room, complete with skylight.

There are two more stylish bedrooms; one at each end of the ground floor and both boasting garden views. And of course, you can expect nothing but luxury from the boutique bathrooms, particularly when you find them stocked with fluffy towels and high-end bath products.

Meanwhile, beautiful landscaped gardens wrap around the house, filled with shady spots for book-reading and ocean-watching, and an enchanting pergola for al-fresco cocktails and dining.

You may never want to leave, but there's a lot of scope for exploring the local area, even if you haven't brought the car with you. There are some amazing cliff and beach walks starting right from your doorstep, not to mention watersports galore on the beach below. Meanwhile, the local shops and pubs are mere minutes away.

If you do come by car, you could head to some of Cornwall's most famed attractions, including the Eden Project, the Tate Gallery at St Ives and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Yet you may very well feel that your own garden, and your own island retreat, will do very nicely for now, as you sip a chilled glass of wine and gaze romantically out over the sea.
