You wouldn't usually associate peace, quiet and boundless luxury with a former WWII operations bunker - but that's exactly what's on offer at The Bunker in Sennen.
  • Sleeps: 6
  • Bedrooms: 4
  • Bathrooms: 3
  • Minimum stay: 3 nights

Sleeping six, The Bunker is tucked away in South West Cornwall, just under 10-minutes drive from famous Lands End.  Surrounded by countryside, you may have trouble spotting The Bunker at first – it’s entirely covered in grass (after all, camouflage is rather essential for a secret bunker!).  Luckily, it won’t take you too long to find the entrance at the front of the dome, where modern glass doors open into a hidden heaven.

Exceptional quality is evident throughout the whole home.  The huge open-plan living area has been finished to the highest specification, with wooden floors and neutral décor creating an airy, clean and modern space.  The irresistible brown leather sofas add a touch of rustic character, and are perfect for relaxing back in front of the 40-inch Smart TV. There’s even an upright piano for a group sing-song!

The adjacent dining area offers a large oak dining table and six high-backed dining chairs, while the fully equipped kitchen area comes with everything you need to self-cater during your stay.  Finished with grey wooden units and a beautiful marble worktop, the whole space exudes elegant, country class.

Style and luxury continues into the four bedrooms which, between them, provide more than enough room for everyone to enjoy a great night’s sleep.  The first bedroom offers a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom, complete with a bathtub and shower overhead.  Bedroom Two features a double bed, as well as its own shower room.  The third and fourth bedrooms are single bedrooms – perfect for children but spacious enough for grown-ups too! Together, they share the use of a third shower room and toilet.

You might notice a distinct lack of windows in The Bunker – something else which makes this holiday home so unique!  Instead, you’ll look up to see natural light tunnels fitted in the ceiling, as well as a range of classy electric light fittings to keep everything light and bright.

There’s no way you’ll miss out on your daily dose of Vitamin D though, as the huge private garden is just too tempting!  Enjoy the sunny Cornwall countryside from your patio, sipping on coffee (or something stronger!) at the outdoor dining table, as you plan your day’s adventures beyond The Bunker.  There’s plenty of space for the kids to run and play, and you’ll also find a games room in the garage for table tennis tournaments!

So how can you fill your days in the country’s most south-westerly corner?  Well, the choice is yours!  Sun-seekers will relish the white sands of Sennen and Porthcurno, while culture vultures can take in a play at the world-famous Minack Theatre, just 10 minutes by car.  Everyone needs to stop by Lands End for the obligatory photo opportunity, before exploring the rest of West Cornwall.
