You've heard of the old woman who lived in a shoe, but have you ever actually imagined life in a fabulous piece of footwear? Wonder no longer at The Boot, a fairytale B&B on New Zealand's South Island!
  • Sleeps: 2
  • Bedroom: 1
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 1 night

The Boot is a wonderfully imaginative, superbly crazy hideaway for two on the Tasman coast, found at the northern point of the Island. Expertly crafted with the appearance of…well, a boot…this creative piece of architecture has seemingly sprung from the pages of a storybook. Surrounded by a pebble rockery and sheltered by lush trees, this giant boot not only comes with laces – it’s also got a front door, windows and luxury aplenty!

Enter into the wonderfully spacious living area, where a cosy lounge sits in the toe of The Boot. Painted sunshine yellow, and fully furnished with a large comfy sofa and cute coffee tables, you’re guaranteed the warmest welcome from the moment you step through the door. Pop the kettle on, relax back in front of the roaring log fire, and prepare to unwind as you take in every charming detail of this cosy cottage.

Pretty wall lights provide a touch of ambience as you admire the fine art that adorns The Boot, created by local artists in Nelson City. Fresh flowers and candles add to the mood, while complementary chocolates will leave you feeling truly spoiled. You’ll even find a stereo in The Boot for playing your favourite tunes, but one thing you won’t find is a television – what better way to switch off from the world?!

The kitchenette (found in the heel of The Boot!) comes complete with tea- and coffee-making facilities and a well-stocked minibar! You’ll also discover a fully tiled bathroom, featuring a luxurious shower big enough for two. Add to that the sweetly scented toiletries, fluffy towels and the hairdryer, and you have a tranquil haven with everything you need for evening relaxation and morning rejuvenation.

A gorgeous wooden spiral staircase snakes up past the chimney breast, leading to the idyllic bedroom for two. With exposed timber beams in the walls and ceiling, you’ll feel transported to another century as you sink into the comfy queen-sized bed, for a peaceful night of magical dreams.

Come morning, you won’t be disturbed by early morning sunshine; the luxurious purple drapes are thick enough to keep the light from waking you. But when you’re finally ready to rise and shine, you can really make the most of it on your Juliet balcony, overlooking your pretty private courtyard!

A delicious breakfast will be delivered to your door, ready to be enjoyed at the table for two in the living room or alfresco in the fragrant garden. After all, how could you resist the lure of the courtyard, furnished with outdoor dining furniture and relaxing wooden loungers? And with a wonderfully toasty outdoor open fireplace, it’s the perfect place to enjoy quiet evenings filled with long glasses of Tasman wine and deep conversations.
