Located 45 kilometres from Möwe Bay, between two winding rivers in Namibia’s famous Skeleton Coast National Park, there is absolutely nowhere in the world quite like Shipwreck Lodge.

Created by an ambitious local architect, the Lodge comprises ten individual eco-cabins, all expertly and sustainably constructed to resemble the thousands of shipwrecks that have lined the beach over time.

Set against the remote desert landscape, you’ll be completely surrounded by strong, spectacular scenery that takes in gigantic dunes, rolling windswept plains and the Atlantic ocean waves.

Choose from one of eight twin or double cabins, or two family-sized cabins that come complete with extra beds for the kids. Whichever one you decide on, you’ll enjoy a wide wraparound deck that allows you to absorb those magnificent views in all their jaw-dropping glory. All of the cabins are ensuite, and feature a warming woodburning stove – essential on chilly evenings.

The solar-powered cabins were specifically designed to be refuges that make guests feel at peace amongst the overwhelming desert landscape, yet with huge windows that frame it all like a living piece of art. Relax inside with a steaming mug of coffee, as you look out to sea and plan the day ahead.

Later on, retreat to the onsite lounge and restaurant for tasty meals, drinks and catch-ups with new friends, as you learn more about the fascinating history of the Skeleton Coast and its wildlife.

Meanwhile, enthralling activities are scheduled daily. Take a day-long excursion to the seal colony at Möwe Bay, and explore the remnants of real Skeleton Coast shipwrecks in the process.
