Close your eyes and imagine paradise on Earth…and you will most likely imagine Sandat, an Italian-inspired Balinese ‘glamour camp’ set enticingly close to Ubud, the island’s thriving cultural centre.

Bali is often referred to as the “island of the Gods”, and indeed, even the hour’s drive to Sandat from the airport is filled with sensory delights, as you take in the heady scent of frangipani flowers and the lush green, temple-dotted landscape.

Beautifully combining cultural elements from East and West, you’ll find eight uniquely-styled and eco-designed glamping havens that allow you to drink in all the pleasures of the exotic natural world, without sacrificing a moment of luxury.

Five safari-style tents (2 Suites and 3 Standard), each measuring a generous 40 square metres, come complete with a private garden and infinity pool overlooking the forest and a magnificent bathroom, while three traditional Balinese Lumbung are two-storey, thatched-roof barns filled to the brim with romance. Whichever you choose, you will enjoy breathtaking views and ultimate relaxation.

2 Luxury suite tents (sleep 2 or 4 guests)
Suite Tent Penjor is elegance at its finest, decked in chocolate-brown tones, crystal lighting and Venetian mirrors. The colour of the sky influences Suite Tent Ylang-Ylang, which features a handmade round canopy bed and white leather chairs.

3 Luxury tents ( sleep 2 guests)
Tent Ogoh Ogoh is orange-hued, with furnishings made from natural bamboo and featuring a pearl chandelier. Tent Sarong, ideal for nature lovers, is filled with plants and paintings by local artists, while Tent Banten, dressed in white, is perfect for honeymooners.

3 Lumbung – Luxury traditional rice-barn (sleep up to 5 guests)
South-situated Lumbung Legong features hand-carved wooden furniture and a mirror made from metal leaves. Lumbung Kecak is stylish and refined, with a baroque chest and a fine linen closet. Finally, Lumbung Barong is equipped with upcycled furnishings and a beautiful four-poster bed. The three Lumbung have a shared pool and garden.
