Full description
Nostalgic, first-class couples and family accommodation at a restored 19th century railway station, set amongst timeless North Herefordshire countryside.

Originally built in the 1890s, Rowden Mill Station is beautifully positioned on a tranquil North Herefordshire country lane, with both the Malvern Hills and the Wye River valley in easy reach.

Here, you can take a soothing step back in time, surrounded by original station features that include a working set of points and over 300 metres of track. The site is also home to over two-and-a-half acres of lawns, woodland, and wildflower meadows, for a relaxing countryside break that's also completely unique.

Situated along Platform 1, The Station Building sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms: an elegant double that occupies the former Ladies' Waiting Room, and the Porters' Room, which features adult-sized bunks.

Relax together in the elegant lounge, aka the building's former waiting room. With its tall sash windows, wood-burning stove, and Ercol chairs, the scene is set for ridiculously cosy evenings in, snuggled up with a good book, or a good film on the DVD player.

There's also a daylight-flooded Victorian bathroom and a modern, cottage-style kitchen-diner converted from the booking office.  Outside, the platform canopy offers a perfect dining area, with far-reaching views over rolling countryside, and a cushioned three-seater bench to help you watch the world go by in style.

Meanwhile, The Parcel Office is also stationed along Platform 1: a self-contained studio that's ideal for a couple, or combined with The Station Building to accommodate a larger group.

Watch the ever-changing natural landscape from the huge window, or step through the sliding doors, straight onto the platform. Inside there's a wood-burning stove to keep you warm on chilly evenings - if it's particularly cold, the friendly owners will have got it going for your arrival! - and a home cinema experience for epic movie nights.

Though it will be easy to stay put and relax once you've arrived, the pretty market town of Bromyard is just five minutes away by car, so you can easily stock up on supplies of fresh home-grown produce.

You could also explore historic buildings on Herefordshire's famous self-guided ‘Black and White Villages' trail, while historic Ludlow, just 35 minutes away, is true gourmet heaven. You're also ideally placed to discover Herefordshire's regional produce, along with its cider and perry-making trails.

There are all manner of activities to try in the local area, too, from rock climbing, canoeing and white water rafting, to fun pottery courses. Choose your pleasure and indulge, knowing you'll have the tranquil comfort of Rowden Mill Station to return to when you're all done.
