A granite former cart store, steeped in history and romance, serenely secluded on the Lizard Peninsula with dreamy Cornish coastal walks in abundance.

Not only is the Lizard Peninsula known as the southernmost point of the British mainland, it also enjoys one of the country’s warmest climates.

Cue dreamy coastal walks and long days on the beach, as you explore magical coves, ancient shipwrecks, and beautiful, sun-dappled bays.

Your romantic accommodation is Rocket Cart House, an exquisite granite cottage-for-two that dates back to 1869, peacefully secluded in the village of Lizard itself.

Once home to the cart and rocket life-saving equipment for lifeboat crews, the cottage is now a welcoming bolthole, with exposed beams, a wood-burning stove, and elegant touches of style throughout.

Fully self-contained, there’s a well-equipped kitchen – with that all-important dishwasher – though with the centre of the village just three minutes’ walk away, you can easily leave the cooking to someone else! There’s also an en-suite shower room with a slate floor and a toasty heated towel rail.

Relax in the pretty courtyard with a chilled glass of Lizard Ale, before retiring to the cosy, timber-clad double bedroom for a sound night’s sleep. With so much to see and do in the local area, you’ll need it!
