Surrounded by picture-perfect Isle of Wight countryside, Retro Staycations comprises a joyous fleet of authentic, vibrantly-furnished American Airstreams that help you turn back the clock to fun times past!
Not that you’ll be missing out on a scrap of 21st century comfort in the process… since each individually-styled Airstream boasts a fully-equipped micro-kitchen with a welcome pack of tea and coffee, gorgeous high-quality bedding, and a private, piping-hot shower.
You’ll find the welcoming site on a 40-acre family farm, just outside of bustling Ryde, yet with a blissful sense of peace and tranquillity. Well – that’s if you don’t count any distant chattering from the neighbouring pigs, sheep, chickens, and cows.
Nestled at the end of a private road and occupying their very own four-acre space, each member of the glistening Airstream fleet has been especially imported from the USA, direct from their former lives traversing Route 66.
Inside, you’ll find your chosen retreat (there are six in total) decked out for the retro road trip of a lifetime, yet with flair and charm that’s very much its own.
So, whom might you meet on your Airstream journey? Sleeping up to three guests, Lucille is a dinky 22-feet, 1954 Safari Airstream whose star-worthy interiors pack a classic punch… just like her namesake, the trailblazing comic actress Lucille Ball!
Humphrey is a four-person 1949 American Vagabond trailer who sports rich wooden panelling and original cabinetry, for a finish that’s as sophisticated as Mr. Bogart himself. And if you’re bringing the family along, Little Eva (named after the famous singer of ‘The Loco-Motion’) is the largest of the lot. An upbeat retreat that sleeps up to four adults and two children, don’t be fooled by the ‘little’!

More information
Of course, you’d expect plenty of charm and magic from an Airstream named after Walt Disney. Walt, the sparkling 1955 Overlander Airstream, doesn’t disappoint, sleeping up to four guests in irresistibly warm, delightfully quirky surroundings.
With a farm shop on site, it’s easy to treat yourselves to fresh local produce, and you can even pre-order mouth-watering breakfast baskets to get your day off to a delicious start.
Use the energy up exploring Ryde, with its beautiful mix of Georgian and Victorian architecture, and its award-winning stretches of golden-sand beaches… there’s even a promenade that’s perfect for windswept walks in retro ‘Kiss Me Quick’ hats!
When you return to your peaceful green corner, you get to spend the rest of the evening chatting and chilling inside your Airstream, or relaxing al fresco by your private firepit, watching the sun sink over the beautiful bird-filled trees beyond.

What the guests of Retro Staycations say
“We never knew this beautiful location was so close and yet felt so far away from our everyday hectic lives. Peaceful, stunning views and lovely fresh produce from the farm shop which is open 24/7. The shower block and toilets were clean and Sarah was a fantastic host. The Airstream we stayed in had everything you would need, a home away from home. All the Airstreams have been or are being renovated and they look amazing. We wanted a quiet place to relax and get away from it all and this location was absolutely ideal. We spent 2 nights here and didn’t want to leave, we have already rebooked and look to be returning as often as we can.”
“We’ve just returned from a great 3 night stay in one of the very cool original Airstream caravans. The site is peaceful and picturesque. The van was cosy and comfy at night and such brilliant design, full of character. The vans have electricity, gas and hot water, all easy to work. There was even a mini bathroom. The owners take time to instruct you on all the features and are lovely, friendly people. On site toilet block was clean and well maintained and lovely hot showers. There was a small barbecue grill and fire pit with all fuel provided. We pre-ordered breakfast which lasted all holiday and was delicious. The vans have big fridges too so you can stock up. Loads of lovely things nearby to visit. Would really recommend. We were in the Little Eva van which was tons of space for two and is big enough for a family with little kids. A brilliant holiday!”
“We have just returned home from our 3 night stay with Retro Staycations! We had a wonderful few days, the weather was lovely and it felt like we could have been abroad on the beautiful Isle of Wight! We stayed in 2 vans as there are 5 of us including 2 large teenagers! Our first van Lucille has been wonderfully restored, she is so bright, fresh, airy and clean – retro with a modern twist. We had a friendly welcome from Sarah and it was so lovely that we were supplied tea/coffee/washing up liquid/sponge/shampoo etc in our vans, I thought that was a really nice touch, as was the fact that the beds had been beautifully made up which was great as we had arrived late. Fresh towels were included too which is so helpful. There is so much storage in the van we had no problem storing our things away. Our second van Walt was so spacious, he has been kept much more authentic with original decor but still fresh and clean and has loads of space! The bonus with Walt was 2 beds are fixed with lovely memory foam mattresses which were really comfortable! The setting is stunning and so lovely to see the farm animals including baby lambs and calves. The farm shop is open 24 hours a day which is great, you can go in and buy delicious IOW fresh goods anytime. So much space on the field for the kids to play football and so much to visit on the Island, the sandy beaches are gorgeous and lots of seaside towns to visit with the glorious Ryde beach only down the road and Sandown just 10 mins in the car. The site is not far from the ferry either, so it’s a great location. The toilet blocks have recently been refurbished and so are fresh and clean and were cleaned daily whilst we were there. I will be telling my friends & family about Retro Staycations and we can’t wait to visit again soon!”
