If you’re yearning to reconnect with nature, Pickwell Manor is the magical setting of dreams. Bordered by flower-strewn woodland, you can sometimes hear the sound of the nearby ocean waves rustling through the trees, while the coastal views are guaranteed to soothe your soul. It’s certainly hard to imagine a more romantic setting for a break spent amongst the treetops.

Eco-friendly and bespoke-constructed by an award-winning craftsman, The Loft and The Hideaway are perfectly positioned on either side of the main manor house, ensuring maximum comfort and privacy for two people.  

Nestled in the East Woods, The Hideaway offers serene field-and-sea views out to Hartland Point. Meanwhile, in the West Woods, The Loft overlooks the stunning coastline at Baggy Point and Lundy Island.

Not only are both treehouses impeccably and immaculately styled, but from the moment you arrive through the woodland trail, you’ll feel relaxed and naturally pampered.

Follow the winding staircase to your treetop retreat, and marvel at the spacious open-plan interior, lovingly handcrafted from larch and oak, and featuring soft-toned décor that blends perfectly with your rural environment. This may be treehouse living, but you definitely won’t be roughing it in the Great Outdoors.

The living area comes equipped with cosy seating and a crackling woodburner, plus you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen and an en-suite shower room. Meanwhile, you can enjoy morning coffee and laze away sunny afternoons from the generous balcony, complete with far-reaching views that lead your gaze straight out to sea.

Your treetop bedroom has been beautifully designed for you to enjoy soothing views right from your pillow – choose from ocean scenes at The Loft, or the rolling hills from The Hideaway. There’s a full-length wardrobe for storage, and a downy kingsize bed that’s perfect for lazy lie-ins.

If you prefer getting out and about, there are plenty of local delights to discover. Start by exploring the stunning Pickwell Manor grounds and gardens, challenge your loved one to a game of tennis, or simply stroll through the refreshing woodland paths.

A twenty-minute field walk will take you straight to the beach, while there are many National Trust properties to explore if you prefer a longer drive. Charming Devon villages are in abundance, while those hankering after some more activity can enjoy a round of golf close by – or even a tandem hang gliding experience!

Of course, you don’t actually have to arrange anything at all if you don’t want to. Sometimes, it’s enough to simply pour a drink and relax on your private balcony, listening to the distant sounds of the sea as the golden sun sets over the horizon. Now that’s a romantic retreat.
