Climb the sturdy wooden staircase to find yourself on the large deck, from which you’ll enter Netherby Treehouse. Inside, you’ll be welcomed by cosy touches everywhere you look, from the pretty Eastern-inspired upholstered corner seating to the well-stocked library and pretty ornaments that give real touches of home.

With a super toasty wood-burning stove and double-glazed windows, Netherby Treehouse provides a welcome shelter from any weather, whether you’re visiting for the glorious autumn colours on the Netherby Estate or enjoying a cosy winter getaway. And with that magnificent deck outside, you’ll feel thoroughly spoiled if you’re staying in the lush springtime or sunny summer months, with views of rolling countryside dotted with sheep, accompanied by the rustle of leaves and the rush of the river.

Whichever time of year you visit, Netherby Treehouse is a self-sufficient sanctuary complete with all you need for a thoroughly relaxing stay. The open-plan living area features spaces to unwind and dine, as well as a fully fitted kitchen area with an electric oven, a butler sink and all the cutlery and crockery you’ll need for your stay. And with your fabulous welcome hamper to unpack, you can tuck into fantastic local produce, including eggs, homemade granola and jam.

You’ll also find a wonderfully comfy double bed in the living area, topped with a soft duvet and pillows and finished with attractive cushions and a cosy throw. With a window beside you, count the stars as you fall asleep, and wake to glorious sunrises peeping through the blind each morning – simply stunning!

There are two more beds to be found upstairs at the top of a wooden ladder – beautifully tucked away for the most peaceful nights of slumber. Children will love curling up in this comfy twin room, as will adults, making Netherby Treehouse ideal for a family holiday or for a small reunion of friends or couples.

When you’re not unwinding at your beautiful retreat, why not get out and explore? With acres of land at your feet, follow one of Netherby’s woodland trails to discover romantic glades, ancient oaks or even the hidden swing bridge. Anglers will love the chance to catch a salmon supper from the River Liddell and, with the rolling hills of the Scottish borders in one direction and the Lake District in the other, you certainly won’t be short of scenery whether you’re exploring it, painting it or picnicking in it!

Things to note

Children should be supervised near the river, note the mezzanine is only accessed by a ladder so not suitable for those with restricted mobility, there is no wi-fi access within the treehouse, but mobile signal is available. Check-in 5pm, check out 10am. Up to two pets are permitted upon prior arrangement in the yurt only (not treehouse), at a cost of £20 per dog per stay.
