Perfect for epic breaks in North Wales with friends or family, the wonderfully quirky retreat is built into a hillside near Dinas Mawddwy, a historic town overlooked by the soaring Aran Mountains in Snowdonia National Park.

Head through the round glass door, straight into the light-filled open-plan living space. There’s a corner sofa that converts into a cosy bed, and a Smart TV to help you relax after a hard day exploring the local area.

The well-equipped kitchen and breakfast bar make short work of holiday catering, though on warmer evenings the sheltered decking is a dreamy space to dine al fresco, chatting and laughing over chilled glasses of wine.

Linger outside until the sun has set, then why not treat yourselves to a stargazing dip in the indulgent oak-barrel hot tub?

Along with the sofa bed, a downy kingsize bedroom will be waiting when you’re ready to turn in, and there’s an invigorating shower room to help you freshen up after that sound night of sleep.

Savour morning coffee outside, to a chorus of birdsong, as you plan out the day ahead. Be warned, however: there’s so much to see and do close by, that this may take some time!

If you don’t feel like straying too far, there are plenty of friendly pubs to sample, or you could pay a visit to the Meirion Woollen Mill, charmingly located on the banks of the River Dovey.

For those in a mood for a challenge, Snowdonia National Park is a haven for hikers, climbers, and cyclists alike… though you’ve always got the option of simply packing a picnic and observing the mesmerising nature for a while.

The mighty Cader Idris can be viewed up-close from the delightful town of Dolgellau, which is also home to a multitude of historic sites, while the Mawddach Estuary is an outdoor-lover’s paradise, boasting sandy beaches and idyllic steam railway trips.

But however you choose to while away those precious holiday hours, we’re willing to bet that nothing will quite compare to the joy of heading back to Nant y Garnedd for another wondrous evening with your favourite people.
