Find peace and tranquillity at Lantern & Larks: Sweffling Hall. This luxurious glamping experience in the beautiful Suffolk countryside is a world away from day-to-day life and waiting for you right now.
Based in Saxmundham, Sweffling Hall is ideally located for all the highlights of Suffolk, from its rich history to its glorious coastline. What’s more, you get to experience it all with a stay in one of Lantern & Larks’ luxurious tents – large enough to sleep six in complete comfort.
Your tent is perfectly appointed to offer all the comforts of home, wrapped in canvas. Solid decking floors throughout, elegantly furnished rooms and practical facilities at your disposal make this unlike any other you’ve ever stayed in.
The furnished front terrace opens into a spacious, open-plan living area, where the comfortable sofa offers enough space for everyone to relax, play games, or simply catch forty winks after a long day of fun.
The kitchen has everything you need for simple self-catering, including a butane hob, crockery, cutlery and utensils. The wood burning stove in the living area can also be used for cooking delicious delights such as slow-cooked stews – a hearty treat for the hungry glamper! In the dining area, elegant ornaments and candles create ambience as you dine around the large, pine table.
This is glamping, so there’s not a sleeping mat in sight in the three, spacious bedrooms! Instead, curl up in solid pine beds topped with comfy mattresses and cosy duvets. You’ll find a king size bed in one bedroom, twin beds in the other, and bunk beds in the third room, as well as lots of space for all your bags and belongings.
A practical rear porch leads to the private WC and bathroom, both of which are plumbed in and drain away. Say ‘goodbye’ to shared shower blocks, and ‘hello’ to a lovely, warm, private shower, complete with adjustable spray!

Your stay at Lantern & Larks can be as busy or relaxed as you wish, thanks to its superb location near many of the county’s attractions.
Begin by discovering Suffolk’s coastal gems, all oozing charm and character. Popular Southwold, home of the Adnams Brewery, offers a host of pubs, a famous lighthouse and a quirky pier. Enjoy fish and chips on the beach at nearby Aldeburgh while marvelling at Maggi Hambling’s notorious ‘Scallop’, and take a trip to inland Woodbridge for sailing and other activities on the River Deben. Inland further still, visit Snape and its famous Maltings for local crafts, antiques and even an opera or two!
For a fantastic family day out, head to Easton Farm Park, where children can meet their first Suffolk Punch, enjoy train and cart rides, and feed the farm’s residents. A little further afield, there’s Jimmy’s Farm or – for something completely different – the Oasis Camel Centre!
History lovers can learn about Suffolk’s Anglo-Saxon residents at the iconic Sutton Hoo, keep lookout at the top of Framlingham Castle or take command at RAF Bentwaters Cold War Museum. Meanwhile, nature lovers can take up watch at Dunwich Heath for the rich variety of birdlife that make this tranquil outpost their home.
If you’re after a holiday that perfectly combines a rural retreat with a coastal escape – and, of course, fantastic accommodation – there really is no better place than Lantern & Larks at Sweffling Hall.
