It isn’t enough that Elephant Hills is Thailand’s first ever luxury tented jungle camp – you will also have the opportunity to feed and interact with friendly, cared-for Asian elephants along the way!
There are no tricks, chains or elephant rides offered here, as Elephant Hills is rated 100% for its animal welfare, as well as being the recipient of a World Legacy Award for Sustainable Tourism. You can truly relax and indulge your senses at the visually captivating Elephant Hills, safe in the knowledge that your tropical surroundings and their friendly inhabitants are fully taken care of.
Located in protected rainforest at Khao Sok, your journey begins with an easy transfer from a number of Thailand’s airports and hotels at major beach destinations, including Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak, Surat Thani and even Koh Samui. Beautifully tucked away in lush exotic greenery, the Elephant Camp comprises a range of luxury, hand-crafted African safari-style tents.
Reminiscent of a hotel room set right in the middle of the rainforest, inside your spacious and well-lit tent you’ll find a downy bed, a bathroom with Western-style toilet, a shower with running hot and cold water, a hairdryer and even free WiFi! Meanwhile, the way your tent is constructed makes it completely mosquito-proof and free of any other jungle critters too.
By evening, drink in the romantic atmosphere as you swap stories with all those friends you haven’t met yet. Meals are provided at the camp’s restaurant, which also includes a well-stocked bar, free WiFi and a swimming pool complete with breathtaking limestone cliff backdrop. Can you imagine a more spectacular setting for that holiday piña colada?
As if that wasn’t enough, a Western-style breakfast is served every morning, complete with a delicious omelette station and freshly baked bread to set you up for the day ahead.
The sparkling Sok river lies just beyond the camp, teeming with wild fish. And of course there are plenty of elephants you need to meet, too! There is a wonderful selection of tours that last between two and four days, led by a licensed, English-speaking guide and suitable for children from 4 years of age and upwards.
