Nestled near Dunfermline, Easter Craigduckie is every inch the friendly and traditional family farm, filled with grazing sheep, cattle, chickens (and the occasional pigs!)
So, if you’ve ever wanted to get away from the rat race and see what it’s like to live amongst the fresh, rolling countryside – and even help to feed and deliver the spring lambs if you get a thirst for authentic farming life! – then you’ve come to the right place.
South-facing, overlooking both the shimmering Loch Fitty and a beautiful green landscape, the two shepherd’s huts, named Ewe View and Lamb Lookout, are perfectly positioned for you to relax and unwind amongst nature.
Bespoke handcrafted on iron wheels, each hut sleeps up to two adults and two children comfortably. Fully insulated and double glazed, you’ll be surrounded by high-end luxury throughout your chosen hut, from the solid oak flooring and a gorgeous Shaker-style kitchen, to an indulgent shower room with a heated towel rail (and of course, plenty of soft, fluffy towels). A new addition to Ewe View hut is The Bath Hut, with two huge double ended baths side-by-side, a plentiful supply of hot water, open views to the west and twinkling fairy lights. The Bath Hut is the perfect blissful escape for all ages and adds even more glamour to the experience!
The décor is soft-toned, lovingly painted in Farrow & Ball shades that blend perfectly with the surrounding landscape. There are plenty of comforting touches to soothe your senses, including a delicious home-made treat on arrival, and a crackling wood-burning stove to warm your toes in front of by evening.
Then, when it’s time to turn in, your dining area cleverly transforms into a fold-down double bed with a full-sized mattress, while child-sized bunk beds take care of the kids.
After a sound night’s sleep, wander over to the hen house beside the huts for some fresh-laid breakfast eggs, then it’s on to planning out your day.
If you’re staying on site, then one thing’s for sure: you’ll want to don your wellies! The philosophy at Craigduckie is firmly upon making amazing memories, so you can ramble around in the wide open space to your hearts’ content, jumping in puddles, building dens, and making mud pies (there’s even a ‘mud kitchen’ on hand for the little ones!)

What the guests of Craigduckie Shepherd’s Huts say
“Beautiful little place worlds away from the hustle and bustle. Feels so cosy and clean. The hut is spotless and so well presented – we were greeted by fresh flowers and cake! Log burner was great for a miserable day and loved folding down all the beds. Great value – would love to stay here again.”
“We absolutely loved our stay at the farm! What a fun break from a city. Fresh cut flowers and a home baked little cake awaited our arrival and we enjoyed our evening campfire and marshmallows into the evening. We even got to meet the animals! The place was sparkling clean and new. The pasture was so quiet, we slept wonderfully!”
“What can we say?! We have had an amazing stay – The Shepherds Huts are beautiful, well appointed and cosy. The boys loved the adventure and ‘great outdoors’ despite the rain. We especially enjoyed the farm visit, thank you Katie. Oh and the cake was amazing! We will be back soon!”
