If you’re aching for a secluded and atmospheric escape with the one you love, Conch Cottage is the destination of your dreams.

Inspired by the natural, curved beauty of a seashell, the architect-designed cottage is set on the wild west coast of Scotland, overlooking the shimmering Loch Sunart.

Hidden on the side of a hill, and boasting a gently sloping turf roof that blends seamlessly into the wilderness, you’ll feel blissfully set apart from the rest of the world as you step inside the eco-friendly haven.

Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase those spectacular, far-reaching sea loch views, whilst allowing natural daylight to flood inside, creating a warm welcome you won’t forget.

The open-plan living and sleeping space curves around the cottage’s central chimney, with a gorgeous open fire you won’t be able to resist huddling round by evening.

The wooden, fan-like beamed ceiling and contemporary lighting add more than a touch of opulence to your surroundings, while extra luxuries include an elevated double spa bath, heated ceramic tiled floors, and an intricately hand-crafted wooden bed that’s ideal for lazy lie-ins.

Prepare a sumptuous meal-for-two in the elegant, well-equipped kitchen area, or head outside to the gravel terrace for a sizzling barbecue, just as the golden sun begins to set over the glens and mountains.

More information

If you’re in the mood to explore, simply meander down the path to discover a fresh lawn that’s popular with the local grazing deer.  With your surroundings so steeped in wildlife, who knows what else you’ll see? Otters, pine martens and eagles are regularly spotted in the grounds, while the loch is home to seals, dolphins, and even the occasional basking shark.

On sunny days, you can take your pick of white sandy beaches along the Ardnamurchan peninsula, from the bay of Camas nan Geall, a mere two miles away, to the clear turquoise waters and amazing Small Isles views offered by Bay MacNeil Beach, fifteen miles from the cottage.

But if you’re hankering after a true taste of Scotland, why not arrange a personalised tasting tour at the Ardnamurchan Distillery? Just half a mile away from the cottage, you’re well within stumbling distance home.

Once you’re home again, you’ll have nothing else to do but relax with your favourite tipple, your favourite person, and what’s sure to become your favourite vista. As all true Scots say whilst raising a wee dram, Slàinte Mhath!
