Celtic Firs Hideaway
Scotland / Scarfskerry, The Highlands
This rustic and quirky cabin is creatively crafted from a caravan and peacefully set within picture-perfect rural grounds in Caithness, close to John O'Groats.
Characterised by huge, open spaces and big ever-changing skies, atmospheric Caithness is frequently described as "the low lands beyond the Highlands".
It's here, close to John O'Groats on the UK's north-eastern tip, that you'll discover Celtic Firs Hideaway, a cheerful, rustic cabin filled with quirky character.
Sleeping up to four guests, two well-behaved dogs are also welcome here, so you can bring the whole family along! Originally created from a caravan, you can expect irresistibly homely interiors, and all the holiday facilities you'll need.
These include an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area that looks out to the rural grounds, which include whispering trees and several free-roaming chickens. Bedroom-wise, there's a double and two singles, and a shower room for morning freshen-ups.
If you don't want to stray too far, there's a friendly pub just a mile away, while if you enjoy travelling far and wide, the NC500 is a stone's throw away... meaning you can lose yourselves in the Highlands in next to no time at all. In-between lie Dunnet Head and the Castle of Mey, and you can also hop on a ferry to Orkney.
