Campwell at Cherry Wood promises a holiday life that’s filled with natural simplicity and fresh-air adventure. In other words, it’s the perfect antidote to our hectic, digital-infused lives!
An off-grid, low-impact village mostly created by green woodworker Tim Gatfield, you’ll find the eclectic, lovingly crafted accommodation nestled in a beautiful woodland valley close to Bath.
You’ll feel at home and in tune with nature just as soon as you arrive, surrounded by the soul-soothing calm and beauty of whispering trees, lush greenery, and abundant wildlife.
The cosy accommodation sleeps from 2-4 people, making it perfect for couples and small families (if you’d prefer to get a group together, exclusive village hire is available too).
Designed with refreshing simplicity in mind, inside each retreat you’ll find a warming wood-burning stove, and downy, ready-made beds waiting to welcome you…with no distracting TV or Wi-Fi in sight.
The Cob Round is an exquisite little roundhouse for two, nestled in the trees with decks on both sides – ideal for sunrise and sunset-watching! The Hairy Cabin, meanwhile, is a romantic, elevated retreat with a double bed deliciously secluded under the slope of the roof. Though if you prefer a cabin that’s a little closer to the ground, the delightfully rustic Waney Cabin could be just the place for you and your loved one (with extra space for a little one, too).
Elsewhere in the village, three pretty yurts each sleep two adults and one child, and there’s also a charming shepherd’s hut for two.

What the guests of Campwell say
“The Den we stayed in was unbelievable and we were spoilt! The pictures don’t give it justice and you really have to see the beauty in person to appreciate it fully! This was a great camping experience and the on site shared kitchen and facilities including a sauna were more than we could have hoped for, it really felt like a little village. Local to the site is Bath which has everything you could want, from days out to food and amenities. We visited Stonehenge which was only 50 mins away. All in all we had a brilliant weekend away and can’t wait to return and enjoy it in the sunshine.”
