Campden Yurts
England / Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire
Full description
Make your escape to the glorious Cotswolds all the more memorable by staying at Campden Yurts.
This superb site on a five-acre smallholding offers exclusive glamping between two gorgeous yurts - perfect for a family adventure in the Gloucestershire countryside.
Campden Yurts is a little piece of pastoral heaven, set on the edge of the popular market town of Chipping Campden and surrounded by rolling meadows. As well as the two beautiful yurts to discover, you'll find all you require for a fun family holiday or relaxing mini-break for two, meaning all you need to bring is your clothing, your groceries, and yourselves!
The yurts - two 18ft, fully furnished wonders - are large enough for a family of four or five, depending on how big your little ones are. Marvellously spacious, yet beautifully cosy, waterproof canvas hugs the incredible wooden frame, topped off with a stargazing window above. Buttercup Yurt also allows your four-legged friends to join on a canine glamping adventure!
A sumptuous king or double bed is perfect for parents, while children can spread out between the two comfy futons, which double as daytime sofas. Crisp fresh linen, country-style cushions, snuggly throws and sheepskin rugs add a homely touch, sure to induce sweet dreams all night long.
The touches of home continue with the colourful woven rugs, coffee tables and homemade cake or treat which greet you on arrival. A wood-burning stove heats the whole yurt, keeping everybody warm if the mercury dips, and a handy two-ring gas hob is ideal for a cup of tea or cafetière of fresh coffee. For ultimate privacy, each yurt also comes with its own bathroom, featuring a shower, basin and flushing toilet.
Everything you need to whip up campsite culinary delights is found in the utility room, including crockery, cutlery and all your pots and pans. This is also where you'll find your own fridge and food storage area, as well as a microwave and washing-up facilities.
And when it comes to cooking, you're certainly not short of choices. For convenience you'll find a gas cooker and hob in the shared cook hut, while traditionalists can cook anything from sizzling sausages to molten marshmallows on the campfire. And then there's ‘Bob' the cob pizza oven for irresistibly crisp pizzas the whole family will love.
Make your stay even more special why not indulge and pre-book the ultimate English tradition with a ‘Tealivery' - a homemade cream tea brought to your yurt, served on vintage china. Very refined!
Campden Yurts is also perfect for exploring the plethora of pretty villages nearby, all exuding chocolate-box Cotwolds charm. Take the chance to visit some of the area's larger towns too, including Broadway, Stratford-upon-Avon, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water.
Children will love a day at The All Things Wild Nature Centre or Countryfile's Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park, while a trip on the Gloucester-Warwickshire Railway will be remembered for years to come.
And don't miss the opportunity to visit the range of National Trust properties nearby, including Snowshill Manor and Gardens, Hidcote Gardens and Hailes Abbey.
Perfect family holidays need three elements: a fantastic location with plenty of things to do, beautiful accommodation to keep both parents and kids happy, and the chance to enjoy the great outdoors and make memories that will last forever. And rest assured, Campden Yurts offers it all.
