Discover the Cabin on the Lake on Gwalia Farm, peacefully set in the soothing green hills of mid Wales.
‘Gwalia’ is an ancient Welsh name for Wales, and you’ll feel the years rolling away to simpler times past as you arrive at the traditional farm, secluded amongst unspoilt wilderness like a delicious, well-kept secret.
Family-owned since 1979, friendly owners Amy and Dee have been warmly welcoming guests to the farm site for many years, and you’ll find the off-grid cabin both lovingly and thoughtfully equipped for a cosy stay in nature.
Beautifully positioned on the banks of the farm’s small lake, incredible mountain views are assured – in fact, why not test them out with a drink on the decking? Inside await creature comforts that include a toasty insulated roof, a downy double bed (alpaca blankets and hot water bottles included), and a crackling wood-burning stove.
Outside, you’ll find a well-equipped covered kitchen, a canoe for exploring…oh, and your very own wood-fired hot tub overlooking the lake!
Freshen up with the invigorating, battery-powered outdoor shower with eco-toiletries provided. Meanwhile, clear spring water feeds the hot tub, fridge and sink, and there’s a state-of-the-art compost “loo with a view” just ten metres from the cabin.
A magnificent setting for wildlife lovers and water babies alike, you can begin your day with an energising dip in the lake (if you’re feeling brave enough!), and end it with a relaxing session in the hot tub, watching the stars sparkle in the vast, unpolluted sky.
