Described as Italy's "happy valley" by The Independent, Val d'Orcia is one of the most beautiful settings Tuscany has to offer. Full of wide open space, visually imposing vistas and ever-changing landscapes, there is always something new to feast your eyes upon.
Val d'Orcia is the perfect location for the deeply imaginative Art Hangar, a stunning and distinctive 250 sqm loft space discovered deep in the Tuscan countryside, creatively transformed from an industrial hangar by an architect and an artist.
Ideal for holidaymakers with a keen eye for design, this completely unique space complements its natural surroundings and is achingly elegant and refined throughout. Its emphasis is upon perfectly blending immaculate art, design and natural materials with stylish furnishings built for comfort and relaxation.
As you arrive, you're sure to marvel at the spectacular transformation of your former industrial surroundings. Discover a welcoming open-plan living room that features an artist-designed central fireplace and a relaxed dining area. Light floods inside from large windows, and you'll find a sleek kitchen here too, along with a designer wine cellar for those essential moments of indulgence!
Two bedrooms each boast an en-suite bathroom, complete with an opulent central bathtub. Though if you prefer, why not enjoy the surrounding views from the outdoor shower instead?
Even more delights await outside, with a lush green garden and hidden terraces to enjoy exploring, not to mention a 20-metre lap swimming pool that's ideal for a refreshing dip on lazy summer afternoons.
Relax and enjoy your art-filled space inside, or gaze out to views of the medieval ruins of nearby Montelifré, as you nurse a well-deserved glass of local wine. What could be better?
Well...how about travelling into the charming village of Montisi, a simple five-minute drive from the property, and holing yourselves up in a delightfully authentic bar? Meanwhile, Montalcino is famous for its wine, and Pienza for its cheese...meaning sumptuous gourmet delights are easily accessible. Bagno Vignoni is also a must-visit, for its thermal springs much loved in Roman times.
Further afield, the unique city delights of Florence and Rome are reachable within a two-hour drive, and are ideal for shopping and sightseeing on a grander scale.
Head back to your creative loft space in the evening...perhaps to be greeted with a private yoga lesson, or a sumptuous meal prepared by a private chef.
Surrounded by so much beauty and imagination, you'll feel as though anything is possible under the blazing Tuscan sun. So relax, pour a glass of wine, and prepare to be inspired to live life in the most beautiful way imaginable.

Tried and tested
Located in the heart of Tuscany, the Art Hangar is an architectural highlight in the industrial look. The lovingly arranged interior in the living and dining area continues behind the kitchen line in 2 bedrooms and a modern and high-quality bathroom area. The bathroom is divisible and thus offers the possibility to create two separate bathing areas. Large window areas, in contrast to the traditional Tuscan architecture, give a lot of light into the rooms and offer a wonderful view of the garden. The huge outdoor area is dotted with sculptures and offers many small retreats as well as an imposing outdoor pool.
From this modern and comfortable property you can reach many interesting destinations in a short time, such as Siena, Florence, San Gimigliano, but also many small towns like Pienza or Montepulciano.
We are accustomed to do the cleaning ourselves in apartments and houses. All the more pleasing, we took note of the fact that the rooms were thoroughly cleaned every two days. The gardener came almost daily and the pool cleaning left nothing to be desired. Cleanliness and comfort characterize this accommodation.
The extremely friendly landlords Rita and Johny live directly next door, are always reachable and fulfill requests or wishes in a short time. The communication is easily possible in Italian, English or Belgian. We were very warmly welcomed and immediately felt comfortable. We had much privacy as we wanted, but were always welcomed into the landlords home if we dropped in. The hospitality and unintrusive yet "at home" feeling and care makes this a very comfortable place to be. Additionally the accommodation offers free and impeccable wireless internet, free parking and high-quality hygiene items.
