A privately secluded, architect-designed eco haven that showcases Tasmania's unique beauty to its best, most dramatic effect.

If you've never experienced Tasmania before (or even if you have), a stay at Aplite House will introduce you to all that is unique and special about this glorious Australian island.

Perfectly situated next to the awe-inspiring Freycinet National Park, you'll find Aplite House secluded along the island's famous Great Eastern Drive, close to both Coles Bay and the pristine, eight kilometre-long Friendly Beaches.

While the huge potential for exploring the East Coast is clear, you may find it hard to leave the house at all. Blissfully private and spacious, you can immerse yourselves in endless forest views, whilst all around you is diverse, flourishing Tasmanian flora and fauna.

Sleeping up to five people in two queen ensuite bedrooms, Aplite House was designed by renowned local architect Stephen Geason - who was specifically chosen because of his love for the area.

Natural Tasmanian materials were used in the house's expert construction, and you'll discover plenty of lovingly hand-crafted furniture and fittings. Plenty of glass ensures you can feel truly at one with those incredible views, whilst allowing sunlight to flood beautifully inside (by evening, there's a gorgeous wood fire to snuggle around).

There's also an ever-changing, ever-growing collection of inventive Tasmanian art displayed throughout, including glass work, ceramics, sculpture and paintings, for a sumptuous feeling of creative luxury.

Oh, and not forgetting that this is a seriously eco-friendly home, too, with water naturally supplied by rainfall and use of off-grid solar power.

There's a constant stream of nearby wildlife to say hello to each day, including wallabies, wombats, possums and quolls. The Wineglass Bay bush walk is an absolute must-do during your stay, an area renowned for its soft quartz sand and crystal clear water.  Don't forget that camera.

Meanwhile, the Friendly Beaches are a short drive away, along with ever-popular attractions that include the Cape Tourville Lighthouse and East Coast Vineyards.

If all this sounds a little too much, you could always stay put and opt for a bespoke-designed yoga, meditation or reiki session instead, before heading outside for a sizzling supper by blazing Tasmanian sunset.

(It's a tough life, sometimes...)

Things to note
