4 June 2017

Today’s new additions have a distinctly South-Western feel, with a rangeof new recruits in Wales and the West Country to add to your hit list. Set your compass to this idyllic corner of the UK and get a taste of theunusual and exciting holiday accommodation on offer here – from ‘space-station’-esque domes & cabins to a rustic wool-insulated shepherd’s hut, luxury off-grid safari lodges and a unique architect-designed rubber-clad coastal retreat.

Fforest Farm

There’s a rustle in the fforest in West Wales and it’s in the form of Fforest Farm, a creative space and magical rural retreat;somewhere to really appreciate outdoor life to the fullest in a completely natural environment. The range of accommodation is just as impressive as the setting.  Choose from romantic geodomes, kata cabins, bell tents, campshacks (think camping space station!), group tents, cabins and more. The farm lodge is the camp base with meals, activities and workshops, and there’s a sauna, river swimming and of course fforestbathing – that’s before you’ve even ventured out to Pembrokeshire’s famed beaches and coastline!

Counting Sheep Shepherd’s Hut

The clue is in the title: this shepherd’s hut is a peaceful getaway in rural Somerset,on a working sheep farm that is… you guessed it, surrounded by sheep!  The perfect place to escape traffic, noise and other distractions in life, the hut is unique thanks to its wool-insulation, which makes it a toasty winter bolthole as much as a summer retreat, andowner Karen maintains a very fair approach by offering the same nightlyrate of £60 regardless of what season you are visiting, so you can really snap up a bargain break!  With lots of availability still showingfor June, July and August, why not treat yourself to an affordable weekend in the countryside at this best-kept secret hideaway?

Wonderfully Wild

There’s something very special about going off-grid, with no electricityor wifi to detract from your experience, just beautiful scenes and the company of your friends and family.  This is the ethos of Wonderfully Wild, where enjoying nature and embarking on adventure in the safari style isthe main focus. The lodges themselves are spacious and equipped with everything you’d need, and each features an outdoor deck with views out to a tranquil stream and the Conwy Valley beyond. With a new wood-fired hot tub being added for 2017 and activities ranging from zip lining right up to scaling Mount Snowdon, you won’t be short of adventures!

Fallen Angel

Newly opened in May this year, Fallen Angel is a ground-breaking innovation in design, cleverly fusing its rubber-clad exterior design with cutting edge features and technology. Designed by architects StudioWest, this heavenly and romantic Cornish hideawaytakes full advantage of its elevated position and sea views.  Relax in the stainless steel roll-top bath whilst looking out to sea, snuggle in front of the egg-shaped state-of-the-art wood-burner, and admire the eclectic style of Moroccan, Spanish and Asian influence that all merge effortlessly.  The location?  The characterful tiny fishing village of Mousehole, with the Penwith Heritage Coast and England’s southwestern tip close-by – unbeatable!
