New to Host Unusual: Glorious Glamping in Huts, Domes and Wigwams

12 February 2018

We have plenty of northern exposure on offer with our latest trio of arrivals in Yorkshire and Scotland, all offering unique hot tub experiences and delightfully rural settings, with expansive private gardens, coastal splendour and flowing rivers aplenty. Experience hand-crafted and carefully designed huts, each with its own Swedish wood-fired hot tub on a friendly, family run Yorkshire Estate. Or, alternatively, immerse yourself in the rich history, tradition and spectacular landscapes of Scotland, where we introduce two peaceful retreats that include unusual geodesic domes, wigwams, beach huts, sea-themed lodges and more .

Waingates Farm Huts

A trio of beautifully crafted huts awaits at Waingates Farm Huts, each tailored to the owners’ exacting designs. Yain, Tain and Eddero may be named after an ancient shepherds’ system of tallying the flock home, but counting sheep will be the last thing on your mind here as you relax and unwind in this blissfully peaceful setting in North Yorkshire, with private gardens, seating and those all important fire pits and gas barbecues to enjoy on a balmy summer’s evening. Your hut interior includes a hand-built kitchen and woodburner to keep them toasty any time of year. Each also comes with its own private wood-fired hot tub, so after a busy day of exploring the Roecliffe Estate and surrounding Yorkshire villages, you can unwind and soak in your Swedish-designed tub, watching the stars.

Sauchope Links

Ever wanted to try a quirky geodesic dome? Then Sauchope Links, a relaxed Fife retreat in the beautiful Scottish countryside, may just be the place for you! This is a unique site that offers a variety of luxurious glamping accommodation, from futuristic domes and hot tub-equipped sea-themed lodges, to wigwam-inspired lavish beach huts – so whatever takes your fancy, you’re bound to find a holiday home that suits you right down to the ground. You’ll also have access to an inviting heated outdoor swimming pool and recreation room, or venture out to explore the gorgeous windswept coastline, hopefully spotting the odd dolphin as you go! This is a superb coastal wilderness retreat that gives you a true slice of heritage-steeped Scottish life.

Braidhaugh Park

From the same team that brought you Sauchope Links, Braidhaugh Park is a riverside retreat in Perthshire, offering hot-hut equipped lodges and rustic wigwams for all the family to enjoy. An enviable location perched on the River Earn means outstanding scenery in all directions and a peaceful sanctuary far away from the stresses of everyday life, yet achingly close to the historic and cultural market town of Crieff. A selection of self-contained lodges are yours to choose from, all with private hot tubs to soak in after a busy day, or if you fancy embarking on more of a glamping adventure, unique heated wigwams are ideal for relaxing in cosy comfort and reconnecting to the Great Outdoors. One premium wigwam even comes with its own wood-fired hot tub – we’re sure you’ve earned that treat!
