New to Host Unusual: Art Deco Design & Exotic Glamping Adventures

22 February 2018

Art deco coastal adventures collide with exotic glamping escapes in some of Europe’s most beautiful landscapes with our latest assortment of new recruits. Brittany’s Pink Granite Coast is our first port of call, where sublime sunset sea views await, before we head to the Slovenian countryside for some sophisticated riverside glamping for all the family. Finally in the Alicante region of Spain, we embark on a global journey through a range of regionally inspired wagons, lodges and caravans. Expect to be wowed!

Ty Gwenn by the Sea

Just a short ferry ride from the UK lies a stunning designer seaside retreat along the Pink Granite Coast of Brittany. Ty Gwenn by the Sea is a unique blend of art-deco inspired exteriors with contemporary 21st century decor, creating the perfect relaxing escape for up to ten guests who like their holidays with that little extra bit of je ne sais quoi. Three storeys of sublime luxury await exploration once you step inside, with the main living space on the uppermost floor, including two large terraces where you can sit and take in the unbeatable sunsets; the architect Pascal Saurel has ensured through his use of wall-to-wall glass that these vistas can indeed be enjoyed from many vantage points. Venture out and you’ll discover your own coastal path connecting you with gorgeous, sheltered beaches – what more could you ask for?

Glamping Olimia Adria Village

Slovenia is widely considered to be one of the top emerging destinations in Europe for stunning natural scenery and landscapes, and we have found a true gem for you to explore for yourself, surrounded by whispering trees and enviably situated by the sparkling Sotia river. This dedicated glamping village offers no less than twenty self-contained safari lodges, all finished to an exceptional standard, with wooden cabinets, lazy lounges, cosy beds, hanging artwork and air-conditioning – there really is no compromise on comfort here. Your stay also includes entry to the Aqualuna park, a water wonderland just minutes from your accommodation, making this a great choice for families. This is also one of Europe’s largest thermal spa centres, so why not take the plunge and have an energising dip – after all, it’s therapeutic, right?

Casa del Mundo

Time for a rural holiday escape that brings together the very best parts of the world in one delightful and sunny setting in the Alicante region of Spain. Casa del Mundo (above, and main picture) showcases an eclectic collection of places to stay, all nestled around plants and fruit trees. Choose from an elephant trainer’s wagon, authentic safari lodges and wooden caravans, individually styled and appointed each to reflect a different corner of the globe, including Andalucia, The Balkans, Turkey, Kenya, the Zambia, India and Indonesia. Your doorstep, however, is equally beguiling with nature reserves, mountain ranges and coastline all close by, and your hosts have some great hiking routes to recommend so you can don your walking boots and explore this pretty corner of southwestern Spain.
