Further south we visit two glamping retreats both with expertly handcrafted accommodation; a Welsh retreat with unique ‘dens’ just minutes from the coast, and an adult-only escape with beautifully finished yurts, bell tents and more in a peaceful woodland setting in Devon.

We return to Scotland for our final property in this feature; the delightful Leannan Boathouse. Perched on the shores of a pretty fishing pond, your setting is the country resort of Forbes of Kingennie, and this historic retreat dates back to 1855. The boathouse itself has seen a radical renovation to create a contemporary haven that still evokes its past with features such as stone-clad walls, stone floor and classic dining table.
