The Oat Box
- Sleeps: 2
- Bedroom: 1
- Bathroom: 1
- Minimum stay: 1 night
Permanently parked in a lush green field close to Ireland’s atmospheric North Coast, The Oat Box is a 1968 Bedford TK Horse Lorry that’s been sumptuously transformed to sleep two grown-up guests.
You’ll feel as though you’ve left the stresses of the real world far behind you, as you enter your peaceful horse box haven. Lovingly decorated in soft tones, with warm mahogany floors, creatively repurposed materials, and unique vintage pieces, you’ll find everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break that feels like home.
There’s a gorgeous, bespoke oak kitchen with a Belfast sink, a wood-burner range oven, and plenty of space for you to whip up country feasts aplenty. Enjoy the fruits of your culinary labours in your private al fresco dining area, complete with firepit, or drink in the sunset with a glass of wine on your furnished balcony… bliss!
Later on, simply curl up on the plush sofa and open a good book, or chat the evening away by the crackling fire, as you get to know each-other all over again.
When it’s finally time to turn in, a wooden ladder will lead you up to a downy kingsize bed (with a soft-glowing reading light just above, in case you need to finish just one last page before you close your eyes!)
After freshening up in the full-size shower room, enjoy morning coffee out on the balcony – saying a cheery hello to the resident hens! – as you plan an exciting day ahead.
You’ll certainly be spoilt for choice of things to do, as The Oat Box couldn’t be more conveniently located for exploring all the windswept charms of the North Coast area, including the rugged Glens of Antrim, and the magical Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
