Family-run for four generations, you can expect a welcome that’s full of smiles as you arrive at White House Farm, featured by the Sunday Times as one of the UK’s top glamping sites.

Everything is wonderfully larger than life here, from the huge sky and the wide-open Wye Valley scenery (the sparkling River Wye flows for over a mile through the friendly, cow-dotted farm), to the accommodation itself. You’ll find six family-sized tipis nestled in the farm’s cider apple orchard, with plenty of space inside for everybody to stretch out.

Each tipi sleeps up to four or five people comfortably… and if you thought you’d all be roughing it under the stars, think again! This is glamping, after all, so think plug sockets, soft lighting, downy bedding, and toasty heating.  

Not to mention spectacular evening entertainment, in the form of your very own movie projector! Watch a new favourite film inside your tipi as you snuggle up together, or set it up outside instead, gathering around your firepit and toasting marshmallows for al fresco movie snacks. With hand-made pallet furniture to relax on, it could be a while before you decide to head back inside!

To help keep your luggage nice and light, there’s a well-stocked kitchen shed with everything you need for holiday feasts (you’ll also have your own barbecue for sizzling sunset suppers). There are plentiful toilet facilities and piping hot showers close by, too.

With the farm perfectly positioned in the village of How Caple – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – you could decide to do nothing but sit back and enjoy that amazing scenery, or while away some time fishing on the lake. There’s also a ‘secret’ pebble beach by the river that’s an ideal launching spot for a rented canoe!

Yet the village also doubles as a beautiful gateway to all that Herefordshire has to offer, with the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye just a short drive away.

(Even closer is the Crown in Woolhope, a friendly local pub and restaurant that uses the apples from the farm orchard for their cider… so why not pop along and give it a try?)
