The sleek, well-equipped kitchenette is on hand for whipping up feasts worthy of the church elders, and there’s a comfy dining table to savour them around all together; flanked by arched windows that flood the space with natural light.
Head to the first floor to claim your favourite of two elegant and beautifully decorated double bedrooms, or freshen up in the stylish bathroom, complete with bath and shower over, and a generous stack of freshly-laundered towels.

After a sound night’s sleep, fire up the coffee machine to help you ease into the day ahead. Perhaps linger over a delicious home-cooked breakfast, as you decide just how you’re going to spend it!
Stroll into the town centre and browse its wonderful array of independent shops and tempting cafés, or find a quiet spot in Hall Leys Park and watch the local wildlife going about its day. There’s a boating lake, outdoor games areas, and a weekly outdoor market to keep you nicely occupied, too.
In the mood for something a little more energetic? Lace up your sturdiest walking boots and hike to High Tor, to be rewarded with the most incredible views from the summit.
You could also explore the former spa town of Matlock Bath; constructed in a limestone gorge on the River Derwent and one of England’s very first tourist destinations. Why not pack a picnic to enjoy in the picture-perfect riverside gardens?
Return to your blessed sanctuary just in time for evensong, when you get to spend another wonderful evening in the company of your favourite people… and a glass of something chilled and lovely.
