Boasting exceptional views of the huge, ever-changing Scottish skies, across the sea to the islands of Ailsa Craig and Pladda, The Boathouse is a magical retreat for two dreamily romantic souls.
Lovingly designed and crafted by friendly owners Max and Judi, you’ll find the unique haven directly on the beach, in the historic, picture-perfect village of Kildonan, on the Isle of Arran.
Often referred to as ‘Scotland in miniature’, the wildlife-steeped island is filled with scenic natural wonder, from soaring mountains to remote sandy bays. Sit outside and get lost in the mesmerising views, or simply walk along the windswept shore to watch playful seals bobbing in the sea… an ideal way to begin each day!
You’ll note The Boathouse’s imaginative attention to detail from the moment you arrive, with its beautiful ‘upturned boat’ roof, and an elegant front door that features a stained-glass window.
Inside awaits a cosy, lovingly furnished space, filled with ornate, well-chosen accessories, and irresistibly comfy furnishings. The charming kitchen area is equipped with a two-ring hob and gas oven, and there’s a gorgeous seating space with a wood-burning stove, to help give your evenings a soft, romantic glow.
With the blissful absence of a TV, you can get to know your loved one all over again… simply open a bottle of wine, or pop the whistling kettle on the stove. When you’re finally talked out, the DAB radio with Bluetooth speaker will help you set the perfect background mood.
Discover a downy, hand-crafted double sofa bed to ease you into a sound night’s sleep, and when it’s time for that morning freshen-up routine, the separate bathroom and shower area is just a few steps away.
