  • Sleeps: 3 or 4 per unit
  • Bedroom: Varies
  • Bathroom: 1 per unit
  • Minimum stay: 3 nights

Studio Hoose and Tree Hoose are two distinct, self-contained havens that boast magnificent North Highland views towards the towering Beinn Dearg, from their elevated position on a private hillside croft overlooking Loch Broom.

Friendly owners Michael and Anne-Marie are in the process of regenerating the mature native woodland around Tree Hoose and have worked tirelessly to plant silver birch, rowan, hazel, willow and bird cherry, whilst encouraging ox eye daisies, fox gloves, buddleia and clover to create a haven for wildlife. Their beautiful space, just fifteen minutes’ drive from bustling Ullapool, has the blissful feeling of being worlds away from everything.

You’ll also be welcomed with home-baked delights such as a jar of shortbread or a delicious cake, to help get your break off to a mouth-watering start!

Choose from Tree Hoose, a luxurious adults-only bolthole that’s elevated four metres into the tree canopy for breath-taking views, or Studio Hoose, a stunning two-bedroom retreat that’s ideal for young families.

The timber-clad Tree Hoose boasts relaxed open plan accommodation warmed by underfloor heating, and a central woodburner for an irresistibly soft evening glow.

Here you’ll discover a downy kingsize bed, and a single that cleverly converts into a window seat by day, along with a fully fitted kitchen, and a deluxe shower room with an invigorating power shower.

There’s a gorgeous sit-out balcony, though if the weather prevents you from going outside, you can watch the ever-changing scenery from enormous viewing windows that allow natural light to flood inside, and keep an eye on the stars with help from the large rooflights.

More information

Meanwhile, perfectly nestled mid-way up the croft, the high quality, bespoke-crafted Studio Hoose is surrounded by unspoilt woodland that’s ideal for letting the little ones unleash their imaginations, building dens and creating fun outdoor games to play (as you sit back and savour all that panoramic loch-and-mountain scenery from the furnished decking!)

Inside, there’s a charming, cosy ‘log cabin’ feel that evokes a warm feeling of home, with plenty of cushions and soft places to sit.  Flanked by windows, the modern kitchen is a joy to cook in, and you can choose from an indulgent bubble-bath or a refreshing shower at the end of a long day exploring the local area.

If you’ve brought the kids along, they’ll be encouraged to help look after the resident hens… from which you can enjoy fresh eggs for breakfast each morning. Just the thing to set you up for an exhilarating day spent in the Great Outdoors!

Which is just as well, because there’s a wealth of al fresco adventure to be had. This ranges from kayaking and wilderness walking, to mountain biking through purpose-built trails (Scotland isn’t the world’s Number One mountain biking destination for nothing, y’know) and traversing the circular North Coast 500… or Scotland’s answer to Route 66!

Rather wonderfully, your sumptuous, home-style retreat will be waiting to welcome you back, at the end of yet another fresh-air-filled day.

Things to note

Regrettably, pets are not permitted in either retreat.
