Friendly and family-run, Strawberry Skys Yurts began life back in 2008 (when the term ‘glamping’ had yet to be coined!), as owners Eric and Anya discovered the perfect spot to set up their holiday sanctuary.

You’ll find Strawberry Skys Yurts in Powys, in a beautiful setting that combines the most picturesque rural scenery and welcoming atmosphere with easy proximity to the Welsh coastline.

Featured in the Guardian’s ‘Ten Best Glamping Sites’ just three years after opening, the spacious site welcomes a large number of happily returning guests every year, and from the moment you arrive, you’ll easily understand why so many people decide to come back again and again.

The site features four amazing, privately-spaced yurts – two traditional Mongolian dwellings and two stylish all-season, all-wooden yurts, each with its own individual and relaxed style. Set on raised wooden platforms and insulated for extra cosiness, each yurt includes a crackling woodburner, double beds, soft furnishings and twinkling fairy lights to help you unwind by evening.

To make your holiday life even easier, each yurt has electricity and in the communal kitchen with your own private fridge, cupboards and personal set of cutlery/cookware/plates to use.

The incredible, lovingly hand-crafted Cedar Yurt is ideal for families, with its unique structure, downy, fairy-lit kingsize bed, full size sofa bed and additional futons, for that enchanting ‘woodland fairytale’ feeling.

The unusual, creatively-styled Oak Yurt consists of two yurts joined together, providing massive amounts of space and two separate bedrooms. The traditional Mongolian Cherry Yurt is ideal for couples and families alike. Last but by no means least, the cedar-crafted Ash Yurt is ideal for a couple or a small family, complete with a beautiful dome skylight for you to stargaze from the comfort of your bed.

What the guests of Strawberry Skys Yurts say

“We’ve just returned from a fabulous couple of days staying in ‘Cherry’ yurt at Strawberry Sky. Superb family run, peaceful and secluded site. The kids had an amazing time. We will definitely be returning with friends and would recommend to anyone.”

“We had a wonderful time here with our infant son, we stayed in the wooden ash yurt which stayed cool in the evening despite the heat wave which was a godsend. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful, the site has everything you could need and plenty of space between the Yurts. We used the helpful guide the owners proved to choose our daily activities and we would highly recommend these – during our stay we spent a day swimming in the beautiful clear water at Aberdyfi beach, hired bicycles and explored the incredible Lake Vyrnwy, visited Powis Castle, had lovely pub lunch at The Raven Inn and explored some of the more Northern areas to sample the scenery of Snowdonia national park. Overall it was a wonderful break and we are still in awe of how beautiful these areas were, real hidden gems.”

“My husband and I have just returned from a lovely weekend away here and we enjoyed it so much, completely chilled out it was so relaxing and tranquil couldn’t fault it at all and the owners are so lovely and welcoming. We loved our yurt first time we have stayed in one can’t wait to go back will recommend it to all our friends.”
