This boutique hideaway for two has staggering views of Loch Duich, Eilean Donan Castle and the Kintail Mountains and provides the perfect setting to slow down, recharge and reconnect.
Expertly designed in homage to the 9th century history of the Norse-Gaels of Western Scotland, the result is an irresistible combination of luxe, hygge-inspired Scandi interior design and furnishings, with the breathtaking scenery and crafts that are unique to the Scottish Highlands.
Deliberately minimalist throughout, Sky House at 57 Nord is the ultimate off-the-radar getaway, infused with a sumptuous sense of contentment that promises to warm your souls from the moment you arrive.
Crafted from natural materials, including marble, brass, and larch timber sourced from the Isle of Skye, walls are replaced by vast, sliding floor-to-ceiling windows. You’ll always be able to feast your eyes upon that mesmerising mountain, forest, and loch-peppered landscape (which, if you’re lucky, may even include the Northern Lights on occasion).
This is a full-on sensory retreat, so as you might expect, foodies are extremely well catered-for. Not only will you discover a gem-packed hamper that features artisan bread, Highland fine cheeses, and hot smoked Skye salmon, you can also enjoy fresh-ground speciality coffee every morning. Meanwhile, the in-house honesty bar is equipped with sommelier-selected wines, and a tempting selection of local gins and whiskies.
Laze in the downy oak canopy bed – complete with sheepskin throws and 600 thread count sheets, as you linger over dramatic morning views of rolling, forest-clad hills. Later on, simply light the Danish wood-burner for a relaxing evening with your loved one…after taking a dip in the deep, free-standing stone bathtub, surrounded by gleaming marble tiles.
What to do in between? To discover all the best kept secrets of the area, take some time to browse Sky House at 57 Nord’s in-house editorial guide ‘The Highland Connoisseur’, which makes guests instant insiders by curating the best of local experiences from nearby fine dining and distilleries to hiking and wild swimming.

More information
It probably goes without saying that the hiking routes in this awe-inspiring part of the world are particularly magnificent, while if you prefer a scenic drive, you can reach Bealach na Ba – the UK’s most remote peninsula – after travelling through a winding selection of hairpin bends!
A trip to nearby Skye is a treat for wild swimmers, with its Fairy Pools of crystal-clear water. Visit the iconic Old Man of Storr while you’re there, then pop in to a traditional pub for a wee dram.
If you’d rather not move a muscle, there’s always the option of arranging for a local chef to come directly to you, cooking to a bespoke menu that perfectly suits your tastes – whether that’s for Kilpatrick oysters, or charcoal-roasted venison.
However you decide to spend your time at Sky House at 57 Nord, one thing remains certain. Life in the slow lane has simply never looked, felt, or tasted quite as good.
