Named after what were once marshes that stretched all the way along the East Sussex coast to Rye Bay, Pett Level is a fascinating place to spend some much-needed downtime.
There is so much scenery to take in here, from the beautiful beach to the Weald sandstone cliffs. When the tide is low, you may even get to feast your eyes on the shipwreck of the HMS Anne, a warship that sunk in 1690, or an 8,000 year-old sunken forest buried in the sand!
Sleeping up to eight guests, Palm Beach House is just a minute’s stroll away from all this visual wonder, making for the ideal laid-back coastal getaway.
Looking for all the world as though it belongs on the sweeping US west coast (hence its name!) the five-bedroomed retreat is all enormous windows, clean lines, and minimalist décor, which will very much appeal to Scandi-chic enthusiasts.
Meanwhile, creatively upcycled and design-led furnishings will charm those guests with a keen eye for sleek aesthetics, as well as taking care of all the essential holiday conveniences.
Bathed in natural light from wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows, the vast, open plan living and dining space is a joy to unwind in over a welcome glass of wine, as you catch up on life and love together.
Here you’ll find a gorgeous mid-century dining table, a comfy sofa dressed in a striking geometric throw, and a contemporary woodburner for cosy evenings in. Oh, and the Sonos sound system will help you set the perfect background mood.

What the guests of Palm Beach House say
“My family stayed at the beautiful Palm Beach House in Pett Level in Sussex. It was truly magical, the house was beautiful. It was spotlessly clean and outstandingly designed it looked beautiful and had everything we needed and more; including a Sonos sound system, smart tv and fully equipped kitchen. It’s one minute from the beach and in a very tranquil setting. The location was perfect offering the best of both worlds being in the quiet and rural Pett Level but also between Rye and Hastings only 15 minute drives away. I can’t recommend the house enough. Helen the owner was very attentive and helpful with our enquires and replied very quickly.”
“We stayed at Palm Beach House for a week and it was perfect for an extended family with small children. It is spacious and has everything you need for your stay – a travel cot, a high chair, a well equipped kitchen, beach towels. It is a lovely house with good outdoor space in a great location between Rye and Hastings. The beach is very close. Meals at Tillingham winery and St Clements restaurant in Hastings were memorable as was a trip to the Hastings Contemporary Art gallery. I would highly recommend the property.”
“We had a wonderful family holiday at the Palm Beach House at Pett Level Beach. It’s a fabulous house – beautifully furnished and well equipped. There were five adults and three children in our group and plenty of space for everyone. It’s a two minute walk to the beach and a short drive from Hastings, Rye and Camber Sands. Thank you!”
