A 25-acre nature-enhancement retreat in West Wales, Orchid Meadows is beautifully nestled between the Cambrian mountains and Cardigan Bay, close to the ancient market town of Tregaron.
Here you’ll discover an exhilarating wealth of diverse plant and animal life, complete with a shimmering pond, wetland, whispering beech trees… and of course, orchid meadows themselves.
Along with guests, friendly owners Steve and Lynn are passionate about welcoming as much wildlife as possible, with a strong ethos of “putting nature back into the driving seat”. As a result, Orchid Meadows is gloriously laid-back and lovely, with a sense that you’ve left the cares and stresses of urban life far behind.
And with a tempting abundance of fresh produce available throughout your stay, not to mention Steve and Lynn’s abundant experience in the catering industry, let’s just say that finding good food won’t be a problem!
So, where exactly will you stay? Choose from three cosy hideaways: Red Kite Yurt, Goldfinch Glampavan, or Tawny Cottage, all boasting creature comforts and generous facilities galore.
A traditional Mongolian-style haven, Red Kite Yurt is styled and furnished in tribute to its iconic feathered namesake. There’s a soft-glowing log-burning stove and a gorgeous king-size sleigh bed to curl up in at the end of a long day of doing nothing… bliss!
Goldfinch Glampavan, meanwhile, is a retro touring van, given a quirky makeover for a well-earned retirement in the orchard. Decorated in the same bold, bright colours as the goldfinch, you can chat by romantic candlelight long into the evening, before snuggling in the cosy double bed.

What the guests of Orchid Meadows say
“The site is stunning and peaceful – a great little escape. Goldfinch Glampavan was really cosy and roomier than it looked from the outside! Comfy bed, lovely kitchen set-up under cover outside and modern, clean toilet and shower. My visit was topped off with a hedgehog by the gate. Lovely place. Would definitely stay again.”
