Nestled on a friendly family farm that’s beautifully positioned between the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean, Hope Farm Retreats is teeming with all things nice… cosy accommodation, fresh-air activity, craft workshops, and an abundance of animals.
Along with owners Jo, Mark, and Izzy, you can expect to be greeted by miniature ponies, inquisitive chickens, cheeky sheep and playful lambs… not to mention farm cat Hannah, and Tiffin the puppy!
Some parts of the farm date back to the 18th century, and there are plenty of artefacts to help transport you peacefully back in time, such as vintage tools and troughs, and respectfully renovated buildings. Yet when it comes to your accommodation, contemporary comfort is the order of the day.
Choose from two stylish Lotus Belle tents, named Cornflower and Chamomile, aptly secluded in the wildflower meadow (you’ll also have to stroll through the family’s gorgeous flower farm to reach them!)
Perfect for couples, single travellers or a family of four, each tent boasts vintage pieces, a downy double bed, two single futons and blankets to snuggle under.
And since this is glamping rather than camping, there’s a full outdoor kitchen (including dishwasher) for you to whip up home-style feasts – with a campfire cooking space for rustic meals and toasted marshmallows under the stars later on. There’s also a covered dining space should the weather take a turn for the worse, and a games area, table tennis and giant Jenga.
Oh, and not only is there a handy compost loo for each tent, but you’ll also have your own dedicated bathroom in The Wash Houses, so no awkward queues!
