Blissfully nestled within a peaceful country park in the historic East Yorkshire village of Skirlaugh, Chestnut Lodge is the perfect place to reconnect with your loved ones.

Beautifully surrounded by greenery and birdsong, inside the welcoming lodge await vaulted ceilings, cosy furnishings, and soft-toned décor to make you feel immediately at home.

Curl up in front of the TV in the ridiculously comfy lounge, to a soft, warming glow from the log burner. During the summer months, all you have to do is throw open the bi-fold doors to invite the sunshine in.

If the mood takes you, wander outside to the furnished decking, where you can cradle your tipple of choice and get lost in conversation to a supreme sunset backdrop. Later on, why not toast the arrival of the stars from the comfort of the bubbling hot tub?

Back inside, there’s a gleaming modern kitchen to help you whip up feasts of every description… though if you’re not in the mood to cook (and why would you be?) there’s a pub serving hearty meals just a short walk away!

When it’s finally slumber-time, you’ll find two elegant bedrooms waiting: both kingsize, though one can also be made into a twin if you prefer. Both bedrooms boast en-suite shower or wet-room facilities, so there’ll be no queuing for morning freshen-ups.

If you can get up early enough, watching the sunrise with a steaming mug of coffee is a lovely way to start the day. Follow this up with a hearty breakfast all together, full of excited chatter about the day ahead!

You’ll be glad you packed your walking boots, as there are plenty of energising trails to treat your feet (or paws!) to close by, including the Trans Pennine Trail; an epic coast-to-coast route for walkers and cyclists.

Prefer weaving your way in and out of independent shops? The bustling market town of Beverley is around 10 miles away – perfect for shopping, coffee-and-cake stops, and pub lunches alike.  You’ll find a racecourse here, too.

Slightly further afield lie the charms of the coast… perfect for a fun and energetic family day out! Filey boasts an award-winning golden beach and rock pools to keep the kids entertained, while Bridlington is ideal for a traditional day at the seaside, with its funfairs and promenades.

With the cities of Hull and York also in easy reach, there are plenty of brand-new ways to spend your holiday time. So many, in fact, that you may find yourselves booking a return visit to Chestnut Lodge just as soon as you’ve returned home!
