Cartmel Lock-Up
- Sleeps: 2
- Bedroom: 1
- Bathroom: 1
- Minimum stay: 2 nights
Stylish and deluxe, Cartmel Lock-Up has been transformed since its original use in the 19th century, as a temporary detention centre for local rogues!
Now a listed building with an additional storey recently added, you’ll find the new lock-up in the heart of Cartmel village, beautifully positioned between the Lake District National Park and Morecambe Bay coastline.
With Lake Windermere a short drive away, you’re perfectly placed to explore the very best of the Lake District – though you may prefer chatting the day away outside on the furnished patio, an ideal spot for morning coffee!
Equipped with a wet room, a downy four-poster bed, a Smart TV and a welcome hamper, there’s also a small fridge and those all-important hot cuppa-making facilities. The Lock-Up doesn’t include a lounge or kitchen area, but that only provides the perfect excuse to take a stroll into Cartmel, a true hidden gem for foodies.
Within easy walking distance, you’ll find an array of gourmet restaurants, traditional tearooms, shops and pubs – and the village even boasts its own racecourse, at which a year-round schedule of events are held.
With some amazing walks to enjoy close by, and of course the Lake District itself in fantastically easy reach, you won’t want to remain Locked Up for long!
