If you’re looking for an energising seaside escape, 34 Monmouth Beach couldn’t be more ideally located… in the coastal town of Lyme Regis, affectionately known as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’ and whose romantic harbour wall, The Cobb, has featured in classic English literature.

As its name suggests, this stylish wooden chalet is discovered right on beautiful Monmouth beach.  What better way to wake up than with fresh views of the sun rising over the sparkling sea?

Exquisitely finished, 34 Monmouth Beach is a perfect romantic hideaway for two, with extra room if you decide you’d like to bring the kids along.   Light, bright and tastefully decorated throughout, step inside and find a delightful living space with a comfy futon sofa-bed to snuggle up on.  Gentle lighting by evening makes for a delightfully dreamy setting.

A boutique and well-equipped kitchen area is the ideal setting for whipping up seaside snacks, while an elegant shower room, complete with underfloor heating, is ideal for freshening up after another lazy day on the beach.

The chalet features a cosy mezzanine level that can double as additional sleeping space for children over 6 (though please note that the mezzanine level is not standing height).

Of course, the spacious wooden decking area is the real pearl in the oyster!  Sit outside with a glass of bubbles and a good book, or chat to your heart’s content over morning coffee as you surround yourselves with the very best that seaside living has to offer.  Fresh salty air, cawing seagulls and the soothing sound of the waves will have you feeling inspired and relaxed from the moment you arrive, leaving you perfectly ready to enjoy the rest of your beachfront break.

You won’t have to look far to discover things to do in the local area, with an array of books and maps in the chalet that detail the very best walks for you to explore.  Lyme Regis is an area known for the abundant fossils to be found in its Heritage Coast cliffs and beaches, while the ancient Cobb is a place to visit and be creatively inspired by its inclusion in Jane Austen’s ‘Persuasion’ and John Fowles’ famous ‘French Lieutenant’s Woman’.

What the guests of 34 Monmouth Beach say

“So many little things made it a great experience. Parking space, we only used the car once over five days. Essential cooking ingredients provided plus tea bags, coffee and milk in the fridge. Adequate kitchen utensils etc even found sandwich boxes for picnics. Comfortable futon. The shower room was great and the flag hung up was a perfect room divider for privacy. The beach was mostly unpopulated, felt like we were on a desert island sometimes. Lyme Regis is beautiful and had everything we needed. Coastal walks picturesque. Sad to go home.”

“Wonderful, quirky place to stay. Compact and bijou and perfectly located right on the beach and a short stroll from the main drag in Lyme Regis. Although small, the chalet has everything you need for a few nights stay with a compact kitchenette area and very functional wet room – the shower is great and the water hot. We stayed for just a couple of nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Our kids loved sleeping in the mezzanine room and we were very cosy and comfortable downstairs on the futon.”

“It’s right on the beach, close enough to hear surf churning pebbles as you fall sleep. It smells nice, too — like a Scandinavian forest! The beautiful Undercliff walk starts just across the car park. All that – and a sky thick with stars. If you like the simple things in life, this is the place.”
