New to Host Unusual: Life in Miniature and Off-Grid Luxury

30 August 2017

Our latest new recruits to the Host Unusual family all have a few similar characteristics despite their very different geographical locations;  they are all bijoux and charming, they all come with their very own hot tubs and they are all bespoke designed and built by experts.

We start with Dimpsey, a charmingly adorned shepherd’s hut in the Blackdown Hills, before experiencing life in miniature with hand-crafted tiny houses in Warwickshire and Lincolnshire, both proving without a doubt that small really IS beautiful.

Dimpsey Glamping

Disconnect to reconnect: this is the raison d’être of beautiful Dimpsey – a shepherd’s hut crafted and perfected by local artisans. Bespoke designed, you’ll discover high levels of attention to detail throughout, from hand-selected pieces of art and curios to plush cushions and luxurious touches that would not look out of place in a boutique hotel suite. Relax and unwind in your very own hot tub, or head out and explore even more of the stunning countryside and scenery that surrounds you, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – the peaceful Blackdown Hills in Somerset.

Tinywood Homes

In a world of downsizing and decluttering the space we live in, the tiny house movement is booming, with people keen to live smaller and simplify. Tinywood Homes gives you a perfect insight into this world where less is more. Their Warwickshire site offers a perfectly formed collection of ‘architecture in miniature‘, all hand-crafted wood buildings with their own hot tubs – the ultimate relaxation-inducing addition!  There are options catering for both couples (Teeny Weeny) and families (The Tinywoods and Family Teeny) and if you prefer to glamp, there is even a Toasty Tipi with underfloor heating, plush fabrics and a log-fired hot tub.

Family Teeny and Teeny Weeny Lincoln

Brought to you by the same miniature heroes at Tinywood Homes, this second setting in Lincoln enjoys a privileged lakeside spot merged with innovative and quirky design. Two tiny house accommodation options here cater for a family of up to six in the Family Teeny, and couples in the Teeny Weeny, again fitted with their own luxurious hot tubs. The picturesque lakeside setting will be hard to drag yourself away from, but if you do, you’ll discover Lincoln Castle & Cathedral plus wildlife parks and the Lincolnshire Wolds within easy reach to explore.
