Wake up to birdsong and tropical adventure from your custom-designed tent, set in one of Panama's least-explored provinces.
  • Sleeps: 2-3 per tent
  • Bedrooms: 1 per tent
  • Bathrooms: 1 per tent
  • Minimum stay: 1 week

Captivating and serene in equal measure, the vast Darién Province is one of Panama’s least-inhabited areas. Darién National Park is a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, and is surrounded by rainforest that’s teeming with life, as well as beaches and winding rivers.

There is simply no better location from which to revel in the sights and sounds of the beautiful birds that live here, from white-headed wrens to barred puffbirds, than Canopy Camp, specifically designed to promote local conservation and ecotourism.  Experience an immersive 7-day tour in the heart of this blissfully unexplored region, surrounded by native cuipo trees and steeped in natural wildlife.

You’ll be living in eco-friendly comfort, in a custom-designed African-style safari tent made from materials perfectly developed to endure the tropical climate.

Each tent is pitched on a raised platform that acts as a stunning observation deck as the birds spring into life at sunrise every morning. Choose from a standard suite tent, complete with teak wood flooring and plenty of natural light, or a deluxe two-room tent at a spacious 249 square feet.

You’ll have access to a private bathroom outside your tent, complete with flushing toilets and a piping hot shower, while a covered platform allows you to relax in the afternoon shade, all the delights of the rainforest in easy view.

In the Canopy Camp’s open air dining room, all meals are served family style and offer a wide range of Panamanian and international cuisine. Wine is complimentary with dinner, and of course there is always dessert!

There will be plenty of opportunities to head off in Canopy Camp’s modified Birdmobiles during your stay, so you can really get under the skin of this amazing part of the world and meet some of its fascinating inhabitants. Though your location is far from Panama’s traditional tourist hotspots, you’ll also have the chance to visit some of the local towns and attractions, travelling along the winding Chucunaque and Tuira rivers in a canoe known as a piragua.
